PastorJ is not quite right. Muslims DO think that the God of the Jews and the Christians are the same God, but that Jews and Christians have the wrong information about him. Muslims also trace their lineage back to Abraham, but instead of God going with Issac as Christians believe, Muslims believe that it was Ishmael whom God chose. Pretty much everything changes after that. Muslims also believe that Jesus was a prophet, but the information that Jews and Christians have about him is incorrect and he was not God nor the son of God.

If Muslims believed all of the same things you did, they wouldn't need a separate name for themselves. If they believed like Christians, they would be Christians. I disagree with the above answer that says that Mohammed just picked his favorite god, Allah, and turned him into a monotheistic god. Muslims have traditionally respected "people of the book," that being Jews and Christians, because they do recognise similarities in the faiths. Many Biblical stories are part of the Quran (the Muslim holy book) and the Biblical Abraham is particularly venerated as an ancestor of Mohammad as well as that of the Jewish prophets. They also respect Jesus as a prophet and a good man, but they reject that he was in any way divine, nor that he was the last prophet.

No. Muslims do not believe Jesus is the Son of God and the only way to heaven. Muslims believe in a different god. Allah is the moon god from the 300 plus gods Muhammad worshipped he just picked his favorite. While the God of the Bible the creator of the world who sent His Son to die for our sins is very different. There are many more differences but those are two of the biggest. I hope that answers your question.

Muslims claim that the name Allah can be found in the Bible. This is no different than what the Jehovah's Witnesses do for the name Jehovah. Allah is not called Yahweh once in the Koran but neither is Yahweh called Allah in the Bible. So they can't be the same God. Neither is the word Elohim which is applied to Yahweh over 2,500 times in the Bible used in the Koran. Neither is he called I Am, which He said to Moses would be His name forever.
The God of the Bible identifies himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jacobs name is later changed to the name Israel, being the father of the 12 tribes of Israel. The God of the Bible calls Jerusalem the city of David and that the Messiah would descend from his lineage. Neither does the God of the Bible does not mention Mecca or Medina but instead Jerusalem 800 times. Yet Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran, which the Muslim claims as there own.
The God in the Bible is called the God of the Jews, an impossibility with Allah. They are called his chosen people, but they are not Allah's chosen. Allah commands the Muslim to not take the Jews or Christians as friends, Sura.5:51 disdains the Jews. Mohammed said, “The last hour will not come before the Muslims fight the Jews, and the Muslims kill them.” (Mishkat Al Masabih Sh.M. Ashraf pp.147, 721, 810-11, 1130). So how could Israel inherit the land or any of God's promises from Allah, if he is their God. Clearly he is not the same God of the Bible.
Muslims trying to prove their position from the Bible point to the Old Testament with the word alleluyah, interpreting the first portion of the word alle as Allah. The word [H]alleluyah is not a compound Hebrew word. It is not two words but a singular word meaning praise to Yahweh. (alle- praise, lu-to, yah-Yaweh). The beginning of the word is Hallel meaning praise. This has nothing to do with an Allah, and the last syllable of the word is a reference to Yahweh the God of the Bible, this is hardly any evidence for their assertions. They are also confusing Aramaic with Arabic. This is not unusual, as Muslims will often take words and meanings set in another language and culture and adopt them for proof of their own book or religion.
This word play only gets more ludicrous as they try to have Jesus saying the name of their God. When Jesus was on the cross they claim when he cried out Eli, Eli it was really is Allah, Allah. The New Testament was written in Greek, however it points us to him speaking the Aramaic language, not Arabic. Jesus was quoting Psalm 22:1 which read in full says, Eli, Eli Sabbathani “My God, My God why have you forsaken me.” What makes even less sense for this position is the fact that they don't believe that it was Jesus on the cross in the first place, but that another took His place. Some think it was Judas; so it was Judas crying out Allah, Allah?
The first Arabic translation of the Bible came into existence about the 9th century. Nowhere is the name of Allah found in the Old or New Testament. When Islam became the dominant political force people were coerced to use the name Allah for God or suffer the consequences from the hands of militant Muslims. Because of Islam's dominance Allah became the common name of God. The translators of the Bible gave in to the religious pressures and substituted Allah for Yahweh in the Arabic Bibles, but this is not the name of the God of the Hebrews, nor of the creator who made heaven and earth because of its source in paganism. His nature and attributes have only a few basic similarities and many more differences. And the most important point is that all through the Qu'ran it says Allah has no son.
Source(s):
Now. explain this muslims:
In Isaiah 9:6-7, it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son? The "Mighty God" in the next verse.
JESUS CHRIST IS: "THE MIGHTY GOD"
Isaiah vs 6:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

No. Obviously not. They believe that Jesus was a prophet but not the Son of God. They believe in the Virgin Mary but not as the Mother of God, but as the Mother of Jesus Christ (man) and also that She wasn't a Virgin. They don't believe in the Holy Trinity. They do not believe in the Saints. They do not have any of the Sacraments (Holy Communion, Reconciliation etc)... They believe that they need to convert ALL Christians into Muslims. That is their mission on earth...

Is the Muslim God and the Christian God the same? Some say Christianity and Islam are 'sister' religions. But the answer is no, they are not the same gods, nor are they 'sister' religions. Comparing the nature, character, the instructions and teachings of each, and usually the practices of their believers, we can quickly see the differences.
Christianity is based on God sending His Son, Jesus, to atone for the sins of mankind (John 3:16-17).
Jesus is part of the triune God, come in the flesh (Emmanuel means God with us) to earth for this purpose through His crucifixion and resurrection. (No other deity can claim this.)
The Quran's Surah 17 111 says: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) domain. . ."
Surah 4 171 says: "O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor, say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah and His Word. . ."
The Bible also says that to obtain Salvation (from sin and eternal hell) that we can simply accept God's gift of mercy and grace for forgiveness through Jesus.
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
Romans 5:10: "For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."
Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Whereas, the Quran states:
Surah 23 102, "Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy -- they will attain salvation. . ."
The Bible tells us in Galatians 2:16 that it is not by works or any good deeds that we obtain Salvation. ". . .but by the faith of Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law. . ."
Another important distinction is that throughout the Quran, the teachings are to destroy all others outside of Islam in the name of Allah. In comparison, the Christian God is a god of love. Jesus tells us in Luke 6:27-28: "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you and pray for them which despitefully use you." In addition, the Muslims despise Jews, but the Christian Bible says that the Jews are the apple of God's eye and that whoever blesses her will be blessed and whoever curses her will be cursed. (Genesis 12:2-3)
These are fundamental distinctions! The Muslim god and the Christian God are not the same.

Thanx 4 the Chick Tract explanation. The truth is that while there are MANY differences, the essential difference is that Muslims do not believe in committing what is known as "shirk", or assigning partners with Allah (SWT).
Allah is the God of Abraham, Elijah and Moses (S.A.W.)

All I keep hearing from them on the subject is " God can have no sons. " Think of that! God can't do something that they can! I wonder if they know what they are saying about Allah?
He can't shoot very good, he can't win a modern war. He can't possess the gates of his enemies, he can't do much at all without oil sales. Sheesh. Just what can Allah do? Maybe he can stuff some envelopes for the big election coming up, I don't know!

Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
(1 Corinthians 15: 1-8 & John 3:16)
Jesus is not the one and only son of God, there are many others in Bible:
'Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the SON OF GOD." LUKE 3:38
"That the SONS OF GOD saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took wives of all which they chose. ". . when the SONS OF GOD came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." GENESIS 6:2 and 4
" . . Thus- saith the Lord, Israel is MY SON even my FIRSTBORN." EXODUS 4:22
" . . and Ephraim is my FIRSTBORN," JEREMIAH 31:9
" . . Thou (o David) ART MY SON; this day have I (God) BEGOTTEN thee. " PSALMS 2:7
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the SONS OF GOD. ' ROMANS 8:14
Muslims believe that Jesus was not THE SON of God but a spritual Son of God... A prophet nor he died on the cross.
"That they said (in boast), ‘We killed Jesus Christ the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah’ But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not-
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is exalted in Power, Wise."
[Al-Qur'ân 4:157-158]

Judaochristian belief is different than Islam. Islam is based on the preachings of the prophet Muhammed in Mecca. However, the moral teaching are basically the same.
