I used to suffer from anxiety attacks for many months. When I felt one coming on I would tell myself that I would be alright and I would breathe deeply in through my nose and out through my mouth. It your self conscious about that or you are in a car sing to the radio at the top of your lungs - it helps you to regain breathing control. As long as you realize that it's an anxiety attack you will get through it.

I get anxiety attacks everyday.. you should go to the doctor and get a prescription for xanax.. that is what i am on and i works wonders.... but if not then i find taking deep breaths and thinking of good thoughts helps alot...

Anxiety can be triggered by a specific action/event. Usually something that reminds you of something in your past. Besides taking deep breaths, ask yourself what recently happened to cause you to feel anxious. Talk it through, and you will probably begin to feel better.

Anxiety disorders are very common in America. I suggest that you pick up a copy of a book titled, "The Feeling Good Handbook." It is just one of many books that covers the issue of anxiety and how to cope with it. There are many ways to cope with anxiety. The trick is for you to find the one that works well with YOU.

I feel one coming on when my heart starts beating really fast. I start running and that helps me quite a bit.
