Have you ever lied? Even a little one? If so, then you are a liar. What happens to liars? "But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

Have you ever taken something that didn't belong to you? Even something small? (Are you now lying to yourself?) ;-) If so, then you are a thief. What happens to thieves? "You know that wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God, don't you? Stop deceiving yourselves....thieves, greedy people, drunks, slanderers, and robbers will not inherit the kingdom of God." (I Corinthians 6:10)

You can name anything that causes harm to another, and it is called sin. Paul says, "For the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23a)

Therefore, when you die, you will be judged by God, according to the Ten Commandments. Naturally, no one can live by these. God Himself said you couldn't. "Therefore I gave them statutes that were not good, and judgments they could not live by..." (Ezekiel 20:25)

The only way to avoid this judgment is to have had someone else suffer the penalty for your sin. And that is why Jesus came. That is why you need a Savior. It is because you cannot help yourself. Only a fool who is drowning will refuse the lifeguard's help. And essentially, that is what those who deny God's free gift to man are doing when they refuse Christ.

B/C there needed to be someone to suffer for the sins of mankind, as well as for the sins of individuals. Thereby, allowing all of mankind to return and live with God again. Also, this Savior set the example for us by living a perfect life, and thereby admonished us to do likewise.
But all we can do is try...and use his gift of repentance when we mess up.

The Lord God allows human to govern for themselves. But history shows human are not capable of governing themselves. Human egos only produces conflict and death. For the sake of His children, He has to intervene and that is through the Messiah.

Look around us at the world... humans have made a mess of things, and continue to make a mess of things...

In addition, we can not make it to heaven on our own. We are not good enough.

Hence the need for the Messiah...

Because it is our sin that separates us from god, but jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins by dying on the cross, and he rose again on the third day to show us that we to can have everlasting life. Jesus said that "whoever believes in me will not perish, but have everlasting life".
