Perhaps there is only one God/Creator but every religion tends to say that their god is the true God. Religion seems to divide us.

I look at nature, life and the laws of the universe and I stand in AWE! There has to be something more than us that keeps order to things. What is it? Well none of us know do we?

One thing one realized when one studies religion is that religion is man made, created by man, organized by man, used by man and sold by man.
Moral values are learned from the society around us. I can offer a homeless person a meal with a smile, without attaching mandatory religion to it.

I think there is a creator, it harms no one to think this. I cannot prove it and I may be wrong. However to believe in a creator and to stand in AWE of life and nature without adoption of religion harms no one and does not promote the hate, evil, oppression and holy book genocides so common in religions.
I believe not the words of men, and so far the creator has not called me up to give me any answers. So I will believe in a creator, live, let live and harm no other without just cause.

Works for me.

One of the definitions of religion is
Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
So once you believe in a God or high power, you are part of a religion.
There won't ever be just one religion as people are diverse and will always have different beliefs.

Oh, yes. My parents were from 2 very different religions, each sure the other was wrong. I think they were both wrong and I avoid religions, but I do 100% believe in God. I'm just not narrow-minded/conceited/sure of my beliefs enough to tell others what they should believe, or how they should live.

Religions do divide us - often violently. Another reason to avoid them.

Religion does seem to divide us - it is scary and sad. Some people have used religion to do all sort of horrible things like ethnic cleansing, etc. I think if religion works for you, and enables you to be happier in life, and accept everyone else and their differences, forgive people, and live peacefully, then go with it. But if religion is instead encouraging you to judge other people and dislike people who live different lifestyles, even though these lifestyles don't effect your life or hurt anyone, then something is dreadfully wrong. That is how wars and holocausts start. Sad.

I believe in God. But I don't throw myself into some weird religion. I am a Catholic, but I don't really follow their faith. I really have my own beliefs, and all that jazz. I don't really think you'd have to be in a faith to believe in God. God created everything, so he's top dog upon all other religions anyway. IMHO

Religion was created to divide people just as "race" was created to divide people. Humans are tribal by nature. They form tribes or nations or religions to separate themselves from others and justify killing and other atrocities by saying "They are not one of us"

Not all religions can be true because on certain points they oppose one another.

This doesn't mean that there is no such thing as religious truth. Think about it; the same can be said of philosophy.
