The reason I need to pay the "cost" of the medicine is because it made by a small company and it is natural, not chemical. However it is still a legitimate study which my very well know oncologist said I could try!! I'm excited about it as it has encouraging research and I can't wait to start!

The cancer started in 2000 in the breast. In 2005 it was found spread into the bone: sternum, ribs, spine of back and neck, pelvis, and skull.

Contact the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. They will probably be able to steer you toward resources. Maybe there is funding for that study available through an organization or government funding. But they would probably be up on anything like that. If you don't have Breast Cancer, they still would probably know who to direct you to. I've provided a few links that may be of help as far as fighting cancer and the Foundation as well. My prayers will be with you. Good luck...
I'm adding this later. Maybe this isn't a "clinical study" but rather an experimental procedure that insurance companies don't cover. If that is the case, I would contact philanthropic organizations such as someone stated before; Bill Gates Foundation or Oprah Winfrey. I'm sure if you contact the American Cancer Society, as well as Susan G. Komen they would be able to provide you with other charitable organizations who would be able to help.

IT IS NOT a study if they are expecting you to pay! The fact they want your money during the study indicates THEY have little faith it will work, else they would "cure" you for free, and you would spend the rest of your life advertising their "natural" product for nothing!
Please see a different physician. Something "fishy" is going on with the one you have if he/she is recommending a non-approved treatment you have to pay for!
I wish you luck.
PS All "natural" products are made of chemicals, too. Heck, YOU are made of chemicals!

Typically clinical trials/studies are subsidised by the harmaceutical company trialing the med. Check with whoever is in charge of the study.

If you are participating in a legitimate clinical study, you shouldn't have to pay for any the the meds you are receiving.

When I took part in clinical trials, I was unable to work. The medical center that was in charge of the trials used grant money to pay for my treatments. Ask your doctor(s).
