I don't know what people are telling you, but, at that height and weight, I would think you could use a few extra pounds. You should seek medical attention because there is difinately something wrong with your matabolism. If you go on a weight gaining diet, you need to be sure you are eating the right foods without worring about gaining weight too fast because weight gain can cause serious problems, just as for those people who try to loose weight. Also, you need to consider your age when gaining weight. if you are in the age group of 20 to 25, the extra pounds you gain can easily be controlled. You didn't say if you are male or female. If you are a female, and you have never had children, then you really need to be careful when gaining weight. If you are a male, while gaining weight, you will need to exercise during the gaining process so you can create the "six pack". Whether you are male or female, exercise is very important when you try to gain weight. Check with your doctor, you could have an "over active thyroid, which in some cases cause your matabolism to burn more fat than your body requires.

Envy? I envy your height, but I will tell you FOR SURE you are too thin. Without knowing your body structure, I can't know how far too thin you are, but I'm 5'5" and 130 with some chunky muscle, and I'm slim.

Get thee to a doctor and have her check your BMI and body fat percentage. Consider why you are this thin - is it deliberate? Do you have clothes you want to fit? Do you worry about the number on the scale? With your doc's help, figure out what is healthy and find a metric (waist size, weight, etc. that will help you get to a healthy weight.

I hope you do get help, because it's not safe and you should be happy with a healthy you.

Blessed be!
