I mean He was born without a father because god can manifest anything, but does that mean he is god. Or is he a part of god like we all are?

Jesus is God. He Himself claimed that to be true. For example, He forgave sins, which only God can do. Further, there are many times where Jesus said of Himself that He was God.

He applied the name of God, "I AM," to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. There are several others I have not listed. (Please note that the English translations will not show this literally, it only shows up this way in the original Greek. Many English translations will say "I am He," or "It is I," to make it flow in the vernacular.)

And while we may be God's children, we are not "part of God."

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Matthew 3:16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

If Jesus was just a man then He couldn't have provided the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all of mankind. God reveals Himself to us in the Bible as one God who exists as three persons. It doesn't make sense to our finite human minds but then again, if we could fully understand God then He wouldn't be much of a "god" would He?

We are not all "part of god". God is beyond anything created. We are all created.

Your question is a bit like asking, just because that tree is green all year round and has little sharp needles and pine cones, why do we have to call it a pine tree? Can't it be a maple tree and be just as special? Well, I suppose one can call anything whatever they want to...but it is what it is. A pine tree is a pine tree, no matter what we want to call it.

We are not the ones to define what God is, or who Jesus is - they simply ARE. Either you believe that or you don't.

By the way, in the Old Testament, when Moses talks to God at the Burning Bush and asks His name, God replies: "I AM". In the words of an old Van Morrison song, "it ain't why, why, why...it just is." Reality is reality - not what we want it to be....

A good question. From what I read in the Bible I believe that is he is God, although certainly somehow distinct from God the Father. Jesus is in his very nature God, Phillipians says.

"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form" ~Col 2:9

"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." ~Phil 2:5-7

In John 1:1-4 & 14 " In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
14) And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amoung us (and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace & truth"

The word being made flesh was Jesus b/c he was the word that was w/ God (the Father) in the beginning. The word was made flesh, as was Jesus, and we beheld his glory, the only begotten of the Father (who was Jesus agian.)

Jesus is God in human form. God manifests himself in three personas/persons/manifestation... for the purposes of the redemption of, and relationship with, human beings.

No...there is a lot wrapped up in His deity. Jesus is God, who took on flesh, and was tempted in every way so that he could be empathethic with the temptations of man, and was sinless still. Because the sinless died in order to save the sinful, he has conquered death, and sin for the believer.

Jesus is God in the flesh(human) He is ONE and equal with God the father. God's nature is three equal beings...this is hard to understand since we are human...but we must have faith this is true. Jesus was both 100% human and 100% God..he prayed and answered prayers. peace.

Jesus is God in human form.

For evidence for the historicity and truth of Jesus Christ, and for articles dealing with his Deity, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/jesus.htm

Cordially,
