I'm prescribed adderall and have noticed that it's effect on me is not nearly as great as it used to be.
I haven't taken it for 3 days now and I expect that I should stop taking it for a while to lower my tolerance. Perhaps a month?

the longer you wait, the more your tolerance will wear off. a month should make you good to go.

You generally can't decrease your tolerance for a drug, and for something where you're nowhere near the maximum dose there's no reason you'd need to. Don't stop taking your meds without first talking to your doctor. If they're not working for you, talk to your doctor. He'll probably either prescribe a higher dose of the same drug or if you're close to the maximum allowed dose or are experiencing side effects, he might recommend you try a different drug. Either way, don't screw around with prescription meds on your own - take them as prescribed, and talk to your doctor if you're not happy with the results.

I guess if you stop using it, or cut down your usage the result maybe the same as your body is building a tolerance for it. Your probably right about reducing your dosage or stopping for a bit. But do it gradually and consult a dr. Keep in mind though that depending on the dr. , their best interest maybe to increase the dosage or keep you taking it. Consult a physician.

I dont know your age, but before going off this med you should check with your doc. My son took it, it was really awful for him, he was so depressed all the time. Ask if you can take another med.

If this was for ADD then you need to learn how to act with out taking the pill.

Good Luck
