You'll know. Its when you can't imagine your life without the other person in it. When you want more than anything for the other person to be happy. Even if it means they're without you.

Yes, there is a big difference between infatuation and love. Love is a whole new level, and the moment you realize it is different for everyone. The emotion will be SO deep and SO intense, that you just know. If you have to ask, it's infatuation.
Also though, there is nothing to be gained by fretting over the question. Really. Nothing. You know when you know. But there's no need to label a feeling. They're not black and white.
Also as a warning, a lot of people have responded with what sounds like infatuation, not love. Love is, well, should be, special, and not used to label every affectionate feeling towards someone, lust, crush, or otherwise. It's a whole new ballgame, and not everyone gets that.

You're in love with someone when you realize they aren't perfect, but you still can't imagine being with anyone else, ever. Most all of us are infatuated with someone at first. If it's a true love relationship, when the infatuation wears off, the love is still there.

They want to spend a lot of time with you and they want to be around you a lot of the time. And they tell you that they love you.

It's different for everyone, but when I see her, my life seems perfect. No matter what is going on, you can't help but smile. You would give your life just for them to love you.

when i think of her i blush and get all excited but what upsets me is that she might dump for as a friend if i tell her. its hard telling that person.
