I think its too much chatting. They get used to using the lingo and forget to use proper English. That is SO annoying!

I imagine it is a combination of the two. There are some people who don't spell worth a darn and just aren't good with English. Then there are others that just make typos sometimes. Don't sweat the small stuff.
For what it is worth I get agitated too. I think the one that gets me the most is when people say "YOUR Right" when it should be YOU ARE or YOU'RE.

some people are just lazy, but really, a lot of the punctuation and capitilization of proper grammar is unnecessary. for instance, i dont use apostrophes. there really is no need for them. you are still able to understand what i am saying without them. you still recognize "dont" as "don't". you still recognize "i" as "I". the English language is constantly evolving. it is a perfect example of rules that exist to improve upon a social dynamic, rather than limit it. the more freedom we have to flex and alter the way we communicate, the more efficiently we can progress.

I think some people don't use spell check OR read what they wrote but I also think its because not all questions or answers are written in English and are being translated to English (or what ever language) and the translation isn't always right

I think we just accept laziness as a valid part of life now. It is a pity that the proceeds of the education that we demand as a right have about as much shelf life as a McDonald's burgher.

There may be combinations of all of these problems. It depends upon the individual who is writing. Eyesight, degree of concentration, and knowledge about the English language are factors.

Darl'n it's usually just typos, they are hurrying or just plain lazy. But, don't take it up on yourself and point it out to them, I'm sure when they reread it they realize their mistakes.
