Fruit/Vegetables are ok in moderation. Too much can cause gas/diarrhea which can be very traumatic and painful. But every once in a while as a treat is just fine. As far as meat goes, older dogs are more likely to eat their food if there is some corned beef or ham placed in it, and a bit of wet mixed with dry. This is something I learned as a petsitter and it works very well! Another piece of advice which I've learned as a petsitter is an awesome way to give pills. Dogs LOVE icecream, and can eat that in moderation too. Take a teaspoon full of icecream, and place the pill in it, then cover the pill over on all sides with the icecream. Place the icecream in your hand, and give it to your dog. They'll swallow the pill down without even knowing they did it...this works so excellently and is so much easier than trying to stick it in their throat! I hope all this helped you, and best of luck!
Take care and God bless,
Melissa

A lot of good answers here but I want to point out that raw meat is better than cooked. Also if it's raw the bones are fine, including chicken bones. Cooked bones are an absolute no no. Dogs can eat many different things (omnivorous) so fresh fruits and veggies are great for them. You can blend several types of veggies together and put it over her food. Don't mix fruits and veggies as this can cause an upset stomach. Also don't feed onions, grapes, raisins, or especially chocolate. Different types of chocolate are worse than others, such as bakers chocolate. Although you may not see an adverse affect from it right away it can eventually lead to a heart attack but it depends on the individual dog. Cheers!

The one thing you have to understand is Dogs are not totally Carnivorous, they are Omnivores, which means the eat meat, Fruits and veggies. Just don't give them grapes, raisins, Onions, and be careful on the amount of Garlic you have in their food. My Pugs all love Bananas, oranges, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Apples(Not Apple Seeds, however). It is very good for them.
Junk is stuff like Fats, Grissel, Potato Chips, and foods of that sort, or Table scraps as this can cause some Health issues.

If she is crazy about cucumbers, they are fine as a snack or treat, but cucumbers are not enough for a balanced diet alone. If I'm understanding your post correctly, it sounds as if her main food has been cucumbers. Cucumbers are almost all water and provide little nutrition.

i saw a video about dogs. it said that a good low fat treat for your dog is fruit and veggies. some dogs have sensative stomachs though so b careful little bits at a time. and cooked meat should b ok. no bones . choking hazard.
Good luck. yer dog sounds cute.
If u are really uncomfortable then it wouldn't hurt 2 call yer vet or any vet.

It's fine. Dogs are omnivores, meaning they eat meat and other things like fruit or vegetables or even grass.

What has been her diet up until now? If she has been eating only human foods, it is probably too late to try to change that now. I would try to get her to eat a good brand of dog food, as a human food diet will not be well balanced for her.
