We're looking for the golball that will give my 80 year old Dad the longest distance of the Tee. I assume his swing is slower then most. He hits the ball straight and is good around the greens. But he can't make the Par 4 in Two or the Par 5 in three. He's 190 lbs 6 foot tall in good shape. He uses a Ping Driver off the TEE. He usually ends up just shy of the start of the Fairway.
Any advice on what ball would give him the most distance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dig

You would be better off buying new clubs rather than new golf balls. Get him a set of clubs with 'Senior' flex shafts. These will allow a person with a slow swing to hit the ball further than with stiffer shafts.

With buying new golf balls, you will not see much improvement in distance (maybe a few yards). If you insist on new balls, I suggest using balls with low compression, such as ladies balls.

Because your dad is 80 years old, his swing speed is probably pretty slow. Try golf balls designed for women. They are softer which means your dad will be able to compress the golf ball easily and gain distance.

Consider the Precept Laddie and MaxFli Noodle.

Lady Precepts are nice and soft, giving long flight. They are a little tough on the greens, but, you can't have it all. Nike Super Soft were rated a best buy by Consumer Reports. I bought a few dozen and have been hitting them well. They stop when I get a good back spin on them. They also seem to fly well, but nick easily.

Here is a link to some "illegal" balls:

I can't find it but I know a few years ago they came out with a ballistic golf ball which had altered dimples for more ballistic flight. It was said to add 20-30 yards to a drive. I never had or tried one so I don't know how they worked. I don't know where to get them today.

Not all golf holes are meant to be reached by every golfer. Above all, forget the illegal balls. If your dad really likes golf, he won't care for them. Get pro v1's and tell him he's earned the right to play them -- they'll make him feel like a better player and the balls are great .

Why don't you quit molly coddling the old fella? If he's still fit enough to play golf get him some Titleist balls and let him enjoy himself without all the damn competitive crap that goes with youth. I am sure he has outgrown all that mess years ago.

you could give him illegal balls, but without cheating, i would probably recomend Callaway HX Pearl balls, they have more distance for slow clubhead speed, and are really soft, so they won't vibrate as much.

The best for distance and value would be Pinnacle.
