scare her, I tested my dogs protectiveness this way. In an apartment, leave her inside with a friend, and then you go outside, go for a five minute walk or something, when you come back wear a mask, disguise your voice, and hunch over (this way she doesnt recognize you) have your friend in another room and barge inside, your dog should try to go and see who it is. When she doesnt recognize you and you are barging around she will (should) instinctively start barking to raise the alarm.
Once she has barked promptly leave and shed your disguise, knock on the door to be let in and your dog may bark until she realizes its just you.

This will build her confidence because she will feel as though she chased off an intruder and teach her that barking can be used as a tool to get someones attention.

If she is still a puppy, that is probably why she doesn't bark when people come to the door. She probably will later, even if she does love everyone. Dogs bark when people they like come to the door, too.

First of all don't show her to everyone. Let her be wary of strangers. You can say stuff to her like "whos that" and pretend you hear something (Have a friend ring the doorbell) When she does bark, reward her. My dogs bark when they hear or see anyone on the property that doesn't belong there. But it does take time. Be patient and buy lots of doggie treats.

Well, you should have thought about that before you got her. The reason is because not all dogs bark at the door or warn you when someone is around.

So, it depends on what breed you have and also how old it is?
Some dogs don't start barking until they are maybe four months old. Can you add on what breed and how old?

How old is the puppy? She is probably very young. The alert barking develops when they get older.

you do no longer choose to coach her as a glance after canine, via fact this might deliver out the worst in the two breeds. even nonetheless, a watchdog could be non-agressive and warn you while some thing isn't widely used around you. work together her socially with human beings, yet save an excellent line while others enter your place. the actually watchdog will come widely used with the breeds. do no longer enable her to be overly aggressive no longer even while interacting with the different canine.

Thats how my black lab was when she was a pup. I realy didnt teach her to bark she learned to bark at strangers from my other dogs. I think that as it gets older it will begin to bark at strangers.

Why do you want her to do this exactly?

I guess the best way would be to teach her to speak on command. Once she can do that, try getting a friend to walkto the door and knkock or so and then tell her to speak.. this way she will associate the knocking with the speak command.
Also once she can speak on command you can teach her to be quiet on command.

It may be that, as a puppy, she hasn't become protective of territory yet.

Give her some time.
