I would like to visit Phuket and relax in a spa resort. With the 2004 Tsunami I am not sure whether there are still nice and affordable spa resort around. Anyone been to Phuket recently and able to give me some feedback?

I do agree with Ken on this. People had been back to phuket and loving it still. Check out hotels and spas on www.asiarooms.com and see if anyone offers you a spa package with your stay. The place is rebuilding and is still a nice place to go to.

there is a little building work left but hardly any, the Thais have worked real hard in getting things back in order, you will have an awesome time. I did not stay in a spa but I saw loads advertised around.

The tsunami is long in the past there. At the moment it is rainy. I would google around for some packages, as it is off season now, you might find a good price.

i was in Phuket last year. It's fine; though there are the human scars and when you are near Patong Beach you will have many memorials and people selling pictures/videos.
