Why can't religious people leave everyone else alone?

There are no Satanists or Atheists coming to your door trying to get you to believe in what they do. And why can't ya'll answer a question without bringing God into it. It's really ridiculous.

Despite the 'neat' analogies they use about rescuing people it's all about making people believe as they do, the more believe the more it confirms their own faith. It's like the Borg in the Star Trek series, You WILL be assimilated!

For many people their religious experience involves a life-changing event. Or an "ahaaa moment" when they feel they have found the answer to the great questions of life.

For them it can completely change the focus of their entire life. They are literally never the same again. There is a sense of Euphoria or great peace. They earnestly want to share this with their fellow man. So if you realize that the person who is trying to proselytize you is really trying to share something that they believe will give you great happiness or peace, then maybe you can accept it as love or concern for fellow man.

Satanists and atheists do not seem to have these experiences in general so there is nothing to share but their emptiness.

Because most people that feel very devout in their religion want to spread it. They feel that the feeling they get from whatever religion they have is so much greater than anything else. Thus missionaries are born; along with those Jehoviah's Witness people who come to your door every month. People have a primal urge to be better than each other. Its sad to indulge in something that is, let's face it, childish in a sense. But religious people feel that since they've been "enlightened", they must also destroy any other religion that may come in its way of being THE religon...now when I'm talking about religion here, I'm focusing more on the Christian denominations. Jews (myself included), Hindus, Buddhists, etc. don't apply to this because they do not advertise themselves like the Christian denom's do. Its bittersweet in this reagard though because while they are more tolerant to other faiths, Christians dominate our country and are in the billions world-wide.

Because this is a religion and spirituality site. I'm not in any religion but i did not come here expecting to b left alone. I came to this site to get insight on other peoples views. If you want to be left alone I suggest reading no one will answer you.
If you are talking about those people who come to your door or hand out flyers its because the pastor of the church probably has and overdue credit card bill and needs the offerings. Its like the people who want you to buy their bottled water because its from the high mountains and its more pure than the leading bottled water.

The satanists don't need to come to your door. If you are not following God then they already have your sole. Religious people on the otherhand are trying to save you from an eternity of hell.

I can assure you, as one who is saved, the satanists DO knock on the doors of Christians.

but I do understand what you mean. It isnt really fair that they try to force it on you, but Satanist (whom there arent many of by the way, i have a feeling you're refering to Paganist who do not worship satan) and Atheists do do the same thing.
Have you never seen people go around and tell you that religious people are naive for believing in god?

Because they really believe all those poor souls out there are going to Hell if they don't go to the EXACT same church they do. Put a friendly reminder on your door that you do not want or need solicitors or prayer folk at your door. If they do it anyway, ask them if they can read. Then tell them to vacate your doorstep. If your too nice and accomodating, they won't back down. This is especially true of Baptists, JW's, and Mormons.

individually i think of its because of the fact human beings want to Label issues, placed on those spiffy little tags or despite. 0.5 of those labels do no longer even stand with the aid of itself ft. Honesty, i've got got here across that human beings who get married those days many times purely do it for 2 motives. Tax Breaks, criminal possession. Any 2 or extra human beings (in spite of sexes in touch) can dedicate to a minimum of one yet another, like they did interior the commencing up, without a clergyman there, without the signing of government information, because of the fact matrimony is only 2 people who love one yet another committing to a minimum of one yet another perpetually. i think of the gov could desire to call that act marriage, acquire it interior the comparable way, receive comparable reward, and that be that, end o' tale :D

How can you expect me to leave the Lord out of my answers when He is the Lord of my life. Romans 1 talks about the limits of man's wisdom, so why should I rely on it, when the Lord is infinitely wise? The Lord is good, and has shown me great mercy. The bible is a guideline for my life, and I can't help but reference it when answering other peoples questions.

And Gandhi, that little shrivelled zealot -- how did he DARE to suggest that Indians could govern themselves, especially after he'd spent all that time reading CHRISTIAN **** when he was living in South Africa.
