They feel that in order to justify the illegal immigrant's coming here, they can say that the land was already "stolen" from the Indians. Has such stupidity ever been spoken? I'll post what I typed on another board:
First of all, every race has been around for at least 40 thousand years. The Indians came here from Asia 15 thousand years ago (at the MOST) so that they are not a true race. Since they are not a race- but instead a branch of the Asian race- they are immigrants from Asia. They came here across the Bering Strait, and basically spread out all over North and South America. Most tribes had no marked territory and were nomadic. (The few that weren't were extinct before White people came.)
When the immigrants from Europe came, the land was as much theirs as it was the Indians'- they did not have it marked- and the Indians fought back at them. It was the age of exploration and conquering- all nations at the time fought for land (This was the case in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, etc.) so that the Europeans' fighting back makes perfect sense, especially since it was done in self-defense. Also, Indians sold each other into slavery, fought each other for land even though it was only for temporary usage, and most can't control their urges for alcohol, so it is going to take a loooong time for anyone to convince me that the Indians are "Native Americans" and have more of a right to land, aren't immigrants, etc. Also, they have the opportunity to stay on reservations and get a lot of extra benefits. (Casinos are one widely-publicized example of this. With some exceptions, I think many have them.)
P.S. JuanCarlosNoMore brings up some good- but horribly gory- points. :o

True Native Americans or indigenous peoples of North America are so proud and patriotic. I admire them so much because they have survived hundreds of years of attempted genocide in many forms. There are few left and their legacy deserves more respect. Illegals (especially Mexicans who always feel entitled to everything) seem to really disrespect them. I believe much of that comes from ignorance of history. They are too quick to spout nonsense without knowing anything about what they are saying.
There are many differences which deserve to be addressed. However, I will only say this. Native Americans are honorable people. They should receive the utmost respect. Illegals are criminals and behave as such. Native Americans know their history, the mass graves tell the sad story. Illegals make up what they want people to believe is factual, no matter how absurd it is or sounds.
Lately it's the thing for illegals to do to call themselves "Native Americans" so therefore I stipulated "indigenous peoples of North America" so you will know. I am not talking about some illegal border jumper. I'm talking about the true American Indian.

you maybe know the Mexicans are half native American - Spanish right why you think they said that because you Americans said that is your land but you never asked to the Indians if they want to live whit you no they were send to a reservation in the worst place in the united states almost disappear and you said why maybe the illegals are not doing in the right way but your close mind don't admit a treat.
the people who were sacrifice were war prisoners, losers in the ball game not civilians yes the Aztecs and the Mayas did sacrifices but in Europe do something worst the inquisition and the religious pursuit.Always the European want to conquer the world we saw julio cesar napoleon and Hitler.
we saw in history many awful things like the crusades the native American massacre the rape and robbery of America all the continent suffer the pain in the *** that represent the European people, now we have to support a new pain in the *** an that is called united states i prefer the Chinese than the Americans.

Oh we complain plenty about the way America is, and with good reason. But neither me (a 100% Warm Springs Native) or ANY other Native I know supports illegal Mexican aliens getting some sort of special treatment. Why would we, Mexicans are racist towards us. Or wait, they're Mexican, they CAN'T be racist, right?
If they think they are going to get some sort of support from Natives then they are deluding themselves. In a way it's like klansmen expecting support from black folk. It ain't happening.
**AW is an idiot. "Not a true race"? In the fine tradition of General Custer, we present AW!!! Custer tried to wipe us out of existence, and AW is trying to deny that we ever DID exist!! The people at YA never cease to amaze. Oh well, I guess the Jews get to deal with ignorant neo-nazi types, and us Natives get to deal with neo-Custer types. I get the feeling AW is a mix of both types. We are here, we are a race, and we ARE the ORIGINAL inhabitants of North America! I'm not sure i've EVER felt as insulted as when I just read AW's ignorant "not a true race" nonsense. What a fool.**

Welcome to the world of ignorance. The world of the illegal immigrant/alien and their supporters.
In the culture of early Meso America (Mexico, Central America and South America) The Aztec and Maya races predominated. They were a fairly sophisticated group of people for that time and they did some pretty violent things to get to be the biggest, baddest honchos on the block.
Those big, romanticly statuesque stone pyramids you may have seen in modern DF Mexico City or in Guatemala or other places in Mexico, were used for human sacrafices. They literally tore the hearts out of people who were still living, breathing human beings and they did it over and over again, until the gutters that ran down the side of the corners of the pyramids ran with human blood and gore. It is no exageration that this human blood would run like water down these troughs. 1000's of human beings at a time were sacraficed (each one seeing and knowing what their fate was about to be), one after another this way by the Aztecs.
These people/victims were captured in raids on outlying tribes and villages outside of the borders of the Aztec civilization. (Early form of illegal immigration if you want to think of it that way.)
After killing their victims, they would throw their eviscerated bodies off the back end of the pyramid. In some cases, the high priests would eat the still beating hearts, and in other situations, they would skin the bodies of the butchered and wear the skin of the captive victims as clothing as they slew thousands more of innocent, neighboring tribal people. Course there was your usual rape, torture, and looting/destruction of the other cultures land and ways too.
Americans need to watch out for these later day Aztecs. They come from "sketchy stock" from what I can tell. Don't let anyone tell you the folks from South of the border didn't do their dirt big time in their own ways and history.
What the Aztecs did was as bad (or worse) than what the American pioneers may have done to the native Americans.
This is just a mindless excuse on the part of criminals or criminal supporters of illegal behavior.
I don't make this argument to honor theirs ...only to make a point we can use in the face of their ignorant and rather foolish arguments, attmepting to justify their criminality.

I'm not pro Ilegal nor anti illegal, I just know that some are quick to judge so Just like the U.S. Army has taught me , "i will always stand my ground". The native American issue has to do mostly with the fact that greeed always plays a major role in Amerrican history. One way or another and the Native Americans are just are a reminder how vile and ignorant leaders will be. So native Americans are also Mexican..
"A scant 150 years ago, approximately 50% of what was then Mexico was appropriated by the US as spoils of war, and in a series of land "sales" that were coerced capitalizing on the US victory in that war and Mexico's weak political and economic status. A sizable number of Mexican citizens became citizens of the United States from one day to the next as a result, and the treaty declaring the peace between the two countries recognized the rights of such people to their private properties (as deeded by Mexican or Spanish colonial authorities), their own religion (Roman Catholicism) and the right to speak and receive education in their own tongue Therefore, the descendants of this population continue to press for such rights, and many hold that theirs is a colonized land and people in view of the fact that their territory and population was taken over by military force.
"However, There is great tension within this population between those of Mexican birth who conceive of themselves as temporary guests in the US, and their descendants who are born in the US, are acculturated with the norms of broader US society in public schools, and are not motivated by the same ties that bind a migrant generation of Mexicans. This creates a classic "niche" of descendants of immigrants who are full-fledged US citizens, but who typically do not have access to all the rights and privileges of citizenship because of the strong cultural identity imbued in them by their upbringing and the discriminatory reaction of the majority population against a non-assimilated and easily identified subclass. This group of people feels a great need to distinguish itself from both its US milieu and its Mexican "Mother Culture," which does not typically welcome or accept "prodigals." This is truly a unique set of people, therefore, in that it endures both strong ties and strong discrimination from both US and Mexican mainstream parent cultures."

If they ever went to a pow wow they would see the American flag flying proudly during grand entry. Now that is love for America. They may be lacking that pride, that's why they lamely bring it up in a debate. They are losing points, and fast.

there are three situations in American history that I am not proud of. What we did with slavery, what we did to the native americans and what we are not doing about the illegal immigration. And I will tell you this, I do not know your great grand mother but she means something to me, please tell her I am sorry. Remember your heritage, she was here before we were.

Anything that can be used as an excuse to justify their own behavior would be my guess. It seems convenient to me that this would be the excuse that they use. History shows that their ancestors (Spanish) did the exact same thing to the indigenous people of central America.
