Ultimately the soul is a mystery of God. The Fathers of the ancient Christian Church talk about the soul as being something that - like the body - belongs to the person, but is not the person. They describe various parts or powers of the soul, such as the rational, the appetitive (or desiring) and the incisive - all of which are helpful in our spiritual development towards a complete union with God; and all of which, if used in the wrong way, can give rise to sin and the passions.

We know that the soul is the part of the person that is non-physical, yet it is not completely immaterial since it is created. In the end, there are many things we can say in relation to the soul, but as to exactly what it is, going back to the beginning of this answer, we must realize that no one can really know what it is as it is a mystery of God's creation.

A human being is made up of three parts, a body, a soul and a spirit. The spirit is the only part of you that can interact with God. The soul interacts with this world. It reasons, feels and makes decisions. The only way the soul can know of God is through faith, which is believing God through His word. The soul does not live forever, in the Christian, but when we die just our spirit goes to be with God. In the non Christian the soul continues to exist in hell.

The soul is your own body as it says it on the bible: Revelations 16:3 , Psalm 22:29, Ezequiel 18:4 and 20. Isaac53:12. In here you can read that the soul dies, even Jesus. So body and soul, same thing.

Your soul (non-Christians may refer to it as your conscience), much like they taught you in kindergarten, is that "little voice" in your head that ultimately tells you if what you're doing is morally right, based on the most basic principles of life. For non-Christians, their soul, or whatever they choose to call it, may be dictated or influenced by any number of things. For Christians, your soul SHOULD (I say should because we all fail sometimes and go against what we knew we should have done in the first place) be dictated or influenced by the teachings of Jesus Christ in The Bible. Murderers, rapists, child molesters, etc. are often said to have "no soul" or be called "souless". That's not true. Everybody has a soul, but some people's soul is full of evil. Your soul ultimately guides your life on the most basic level of existence.

Nobody knows that what is soul, it is a challenge of Quran.
In quran Allah the Almighty says:
these people ask you (Muhammad) about the soul, tell them soul is a very delicate thing and only Allah know what is it.
Please refer to a english translation of Quran for accurate wording of the verse.

If we have a soul... it exists like this:
If you wrote a poem - just a line or two and then destroyed the paper it was on, the idea of it would still be in your mind.
If your memory was good, you could re-write the poem, years later, exactly as it was when you destroyed it.

If there is a god, you are an idea he/she once had. To him/her, you are as uncomplicated as a short poem. Thus - you cannot be destroyed. God could "rewrite" you any time he/she chose to.
