The amount of water your body holds, sometimes for women they tend to hold more water during their period, water weight can be lost within a few hours of sauna style training where you sweat out your body's water although not the healthiest thing in the world if you need to be a specific weight by a set date like a boxer does its a good way to cut that weight. If you're looking to improve your body image water weight wont adjust much of that, people typically hold 10 pounds of water weight although 10 pounds sounds like a lot of weight when its water weight you don't notice much of a difference in appearance when you lose it. If you're after a better looking body I suggest you lift some light weights and lose some fat maybe (not saying you're fat)

Water weight is something you naturally have, it's not bad... However, it does make you one or two pounds heavier than your actual weight. You can't "get rid" of water weight once and for all - but the best way to do it for a period of time would be to sweat it off (run around outside in trash bags - silly, I know, but it works wonders! Professional athletes, especially boxers and horse racing jockeys, use this method all the time). Or, try to stay away from the salty foods.

This is not a technical answer. All cells need water as well as fuel to do their various jobs. Some retain water, especially if we are eating a salty diet, or its near that time of month for us girls.

It is neither good or bad, it just is.

It is a portion of your weight, and compacting (diet or exercise or both trimming you down) causes the cells to be less able or less needful to hold onto the water. The experts say that water weight is the first weight you lose on a diet.

Hope this helps

Water weight usually refers to excess water that you are retaining. Usually due to inactivity in a healthy person.
There are drugs and such to offset this condition but exercise is the way to go. If your not sweating your not trying hard enough.

it is good. don't get rid of it unless you have to make a certain weight class for a sport you play or something. our bodies are made up of mostly water, shedding 'water-weight' just means dehydrating yourself, which is bad.
