I see. Compare hell to an insignificant plaything, and now you can just discard it, right?

No.

Hell is real. And it sucks more than you or I can imagine.

It's not a game.

Cause, its the only one they've got left after they've tried every argument in the book. It's their first and last resort.
If they would only listen instead of preach so much they would shut up and move on, rather than make empty threats. Their rants do a lot to keep people from even considering Christianity.

The ones that really offend on this site are the people who cut and paste page after page of the Bible or other religious articles.
Makes one wish the Yahoo Guide lines limited the amount of material used in answering.
Now, watch for the Hell cards, they'll pop up sooner or later,

Real or not is a true question but no one can answer. But the point here is that you get frightened by the "hell card". Whatever the truth, you should have your confidence in what you know. The problem with you is you cannot have a firm mind on the issue.

When logic and reason are used usually the "hell card" gets played because how can you argue with that kind of thinking? It's the easy way out of an intelligent conversation for stupid people.

Sadly, these people are so persuaded of humankind's inherent evil that they think that only through threats and intimidation is it possible to get people to behave the way these religious fundamentalists want. That's the message in a nutshell - "Behave as God (in reality, as the fundy wishes you would) demands or God will smash you into atoms and burn you in the eternal fire forever and ever!" Most sensible adults see through this remarkably amateurish attempt to terrorize others into submission and reject it out of hand.
NOTE: The "war on terror" is incomplete until the religious hard right is defeated as well as al Qaida!!

I don't think it is ridiculous. Honestly.... I think it is more foolish to not care. But thank God that we have free will and that we get to choose. Anyhow, what do I have to loose if I do believe there is a hell? I live a happy, productive life even though I believe there is a hell.
I see your point though, I don't think that people should hassle you about it. I think they only do because they really care and think they are doing the right thing. But if somebody doesn't want to hear about God, I don't want to force it on them. I wouldn't want one of my friends to force somebody to like and accept me.
