Acording to the bible, the ten commandments (not suggestions, mind you) include "Thou shalt not kill."

Shortly after, the same people march north and proceed to kill anyone in their way. They invade Jericho, Jerusalem and many other cities.

Given that, it would seem that "Thou shalt not kill" was more likely "Thou shalt not kill Moses" or "Thou should not kill, unless you have a good reason." Maybe it's a translation error.

You are most confused with may things. Past posting tell me.

Animals do not have souls and will not go to heaven or hell.
People are not animals.

THE GOD made the Earth for MAN.

Man is SUPPOSED to take good care of Earth but because of the fall - we don't.

If indeed you have become a True Christian by accepting Jesus/GOD, that is wonderful and, you will go to heaven..

If you still decide to HUMP with your boy friend - then it will grieve THE GOD.
If you're a True Christian, that sin will be forgiven as all are Past, Present, and Future. But you are still HURTING THE GOD!

If you are NOT a True Christian then HUMPIN is indeed a sin.

It is NOT A SIN to kill animals.
You may not like that idea...but that 's the way it is.

DO NOT KILL in the Bible is actually translated from DO NOT MURDER. There is a VAST difference.

Well....firstly, I'm not a christian, but I suppose every good willing person should realize it's not right to kill.

But killing an animal, then eating it is how the world works. If we're not allowed to kill an animal, then is every predator in the wild going to hell when it dies? And if you say animals don't go to heaven or hell, well....what kind of religion is that, if your so smart?

Eating meat contributed to where we are today. It helped develope our brains. It's partly responsible for how smart you are right now (if you believe in evolution...which if your a christian, obviously you don't and I can't carry on this conversation with you any further).

I can't stand vegetarians. Ingrates. Raise your hand if your a vegetarian.....whoa, whoa....don't tire yourself out.

That's what chickens are for! Eat up!

Some people debate whether or not animals have souls. Not many people kill a person to eat them. It is typically a malicious act of aggression with a lack of remorse. Eating animals is healthy and helps people. Hunting animals (which I personally am unsure of in some instances) can help in the long run. An over abundance of animals leads to starvation due to shortage in the food supply.
I also think you should watch the Lion King. Animals hunt other animals. People hunt animals Animals hunt people. And in some cultures people do cannibalize other people.

We all have sinned - so now its a matter of determing the
degree and the damage. Casting the first stone, and all that.

The "thou shalt not kill" was certainly originally intended to
mean "thou shalt not kill other humans" - but we extend it
to mean "Thou shalt not harm where possible".

We kill other people (war, death penalty) and we kill animals
and plants by the billions daily.

No, as a species, we probably don't need to kill for food at
this point: We understand our own metabolisms enough to
know what we need to supplement to survive.

However, before you get all holier than thou on us carnivores,
please remember that carniverousness has been around a lot
longer then vegetarianism-by-choice.

It pervades our traditions, our economies and therefore
our apetites.

It will take generations of understanding before the behavior
will change. Frankly, considering the way we insist on killing
other humans, I wouldn't hold my breath.

well in the Christian bible Genesis 3:21 even God killed an animal to cloth Adam and Eve in skins, and then here's a bunch of verses about eating animals
Genesis 9:3 - Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
Genesis 27:7 - Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death.
Genesis 27:9 - Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
Numbers 11:5 - We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
Deuteronomy 2:6 - Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.
1 Samuel 20:24 - So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.
***
Matthew 15:37 - And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
Matthew 25:35 - For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat:
Luke 24:42 - And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
Luke 9:13 - But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
1 Corinthians 15:39 - All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

You don't have to go to hell for murder or killing. God made a way by sending his dear son Jesus to pay our sin debt for us so that no one "has" to go to hell. As to eating meat, that's a result of sin coming into this world. Before that happened even the animals all ate plants.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

When Christ comes again and the curse is lifted from this planet it will go back to the way that God intended it to be from the beginning.

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; their young shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. 9 They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

First, the Bible says to do no murder. Humans are Biblically different from the other animals. We have a part to us, the spirit, that the other animals do not have. If you equate animals with humans morally, then you have left the Biblical arena which means there is no hell to go to. If you accept the Bible as authority, then you must accept that they are substantially different. Murder is to kill a human without due cause. (In other words, you may kill in self-defense.)

By your logic why are we killing plants to eat them? Are plants not living?

The sin is when you kill a human. God placed everything here for a reason and some animals purpose is food.
