why do religious pro-life groups try to change the law for abortion, If God gave us all free will then surely the choice to have an abortion is included? I know it says in the bible that it is wrong but surely if ur anti-abortion u should just never have an abortion and let other woman decide what is right for them, instead of forcing ur will on everyone! Please serious answers only and try not to condemn me or anyone else to hell!

Gary i'm not condoning murder, the law in most states says the baby isnt a person until it is fully out of the womb, i dont agree with this myself, but why should my beliefs be forced on to another person and then made in to a law?

Also ppl saying what about the baby's right to chose, well surely the baby has no choice? It's either forced to live or forced to die! A baby cant say it wants to be born or not and after it is born it has no choice if it wants to die cause suicide is a sin as well. So the unborn baby has no choice anyway.

Do you have free will to rob banks also? Laws are created to protect other individuals - in this case human life needs protected.

By the way, this is NOT a religious issue with me. Its about humans getting killed by other humans.

You should be ashamed of yourself for placing such low values on other humans.

It is because of a mix between their beliefs that there is life in a fetus from the moment of conception combined with the 10 Commandments-specifically, thou shall not kill-so they consider it murder when said abortion happens. They believe the idea of adoption is the better solution. I have heard too many stories of kids and mothers alike that spend their whole lives wondering why they did what they did and looking for their real parents. I feel the right of abortion is with the woman solely and should be her decision only, married or not. I don't condemn you or anyone else, but I don't want the option given up. Between the population growth we have in all countries and the kids that are suffering and what not all over the world, abortion would have solved a lot of these problems had the mother been given the option. Unfortunately, like you, these people have the right to say what they feel as well which is fine as long as they only SAY it and nothing more. I don't boom their clinics or shoot their doctors so I would appreciate it if they didn't do it to us. Hope this helps!!

We live in a society which typically says, You can do what you want, just don't hurt / interfere with others.

Well, abortion is the ultimate in hurting another person, -even thought the courts do not recognize the "person-hood" of the yet-born.

Also, the Bible does not (explicitly) say that abortion is wrong / murder. But everyone reasonable will say that life belongs to God, and the baby to-be-born is his life. You're just the grocery bag delivering God's package.

Everyone has the opportunity to voice their opinion on public policies, and likewise moral folks feel abortion is against nature. You don't have to be 'religious' to recognize the inHumanity of an abortion.

If abortion is a woman's "right" then abortion clinics / abortionists fall under local regulatory laws, such as barber shops and hair dressers. Just pass jurisdiction laws saying women can 'choose' abortion, yet the act of an abortionist will be outside of this county / city / or state. That ought to put those money-making body cutters where they belong, - behind bars as criminals against nature !!

You are right when you say that God gave us free will, and therefore the choice to have an abortion is included in that free will. Just as the choice to brutally murder someone is included in that free will; or the choice to rob a bank or hold up a liquor store; or run a red light with the possibility of causing a deadly auto accident. The point is, yes, everything is included within our free will - but not all things are good or right. And for those who say, "we have separation of church and state", yes, we do. But as a society of people living together we have laws that are based on societal morals and that are aimed at preserving the peace between free willed individuals by a voluntary limitation on our freedoms for the sake of the society as a whole.

At the end of the day, people are free to do whatever they wish, and they must face the consequences of those actions. And in a free society, people also are free to try to influence the laws that we all live under to reflect what they believe are the moral principles the society as a whole should live by. Society as a whole will determine which of those laws to adopt - and in the end God will judge our free-will actions.

It's your choice what to do about it - but be prepared to accept the consequences of your choices.

I see what you're saying. We do in fact have free will. But what people tend to take out of the picture is that jsut because you have free will does not make certain things a good choice. we all have the ability to jump off a bridge and kill ourselves, but that does not mean that it is a good idea. For the record not all "religious" pro-life groups try to force their beliefs on people. They simply express themselves with their beliefs just like all other people living in North America. I can also tell that you don't really read the bible by your comment of others trying to condemn anyone to hell. That is not how it works. we don't believe that you should have abortions, but you can repent of your wrong doings, If you fail to do that then you go to hell. Do not believe all the negative things about religious people. Research things for yourself and then your make your judgements. It is obvious you have not yet research.

abortion is one of those controversial issues facing our society. One group believes a human is not a human until it is existing outside the womb unconnected to its host mother....and the other side says a human is the fertilized embyro within the mother host. There is no clear idea or concept here.

I happen to subscribe to the idea of free to exist without the subsequent physical attachments like ambial cord and pulling nutrients from the mom's blood/placenta. No one is truly alive until they take their first breath with their own lungs. Of course that is only my belief and not the legal description.

I also believe in the right to utilize medical science to better any human's life. If that means terminating a pregnancy before the social trauma of raising a child becomes a burdon on the parent, then so be it. Roe vs. Wade set a legal precident in the USA for a reason, let's not backtrack on that reason and take away preexisting rights.

This is exactly like asking why we should have laws against the murder of born children, against rape, against molestation, or against any other crime. Using this logic, someone could reasonably say, "I'm against drowning children in the bathtub. I wouldn't drown MY children in the bathtub, but it's up to other women to decide what's right for them. After all, they have free will, don't they? I wouldn't want to impose my beliefs on them and say that drowning children in the bathtub is wrong." Do you see the problem here? If killing children is wrong, and the human being in the womb is in fact a child, then there ought to be a law against abortion. If you doubt that the living being in the womb is a child, see:

I have thought the same thing myself. For all of those who are anti abortion I think they should simply not have one. I think that pro-life groups think they are saving poor unborn babies. Realistically, where are they when a woman finds herself pregnant and in a bad situation. Are they there to provide assistance?? When a baby is born that is unwanted and unloved are they there to care for it for the next 18 years.
It is so easy to pass judgement on a woman who has had an abortion. I dont think people realize how much a woman suffers when she aborts her baby.
And I am sick and tired of hearing people comment "you shouldnt have opened your legs if you werent ready for the consequences. Please, spare me the ignorance and vulgarity. Things happen - none of us are perfect. I am sure everyone has done things in their life they are not proud of.
Abortion is an ugly part of life but no one has the right to take away a womans right to choose what she wants to do with her own body.

because people who are prolife believe exactly what that implies. if you believe abortion is wrong, then you believe that a "fetus" is alive at conception. so killing the 'fetus' is murder. and when you truly believe that abortion is just legal murder, of course you want to stop all of it. also a woman does have the right to decide what happens to her body, whether to have sex is one of those decisions. rape, incest, and danger to the mother are awful things, but that's where your faith that things will work out comes in. i don't pretend to know whats best but you asked for a serious answer and there it is. just for the record, i am pro-life.
and to the person who said blah blah blah..."separation of church and state." that idea was to protect the church from the government, not the government from the church. look it up.

I really agree with you. I am against abortion and would never have it done. However, I would never judge someone else for having it done. I do not want to put my body nor my mind through that. The people who do have abortions have to live with their choice just as I live with keeping my children. I can't tell someone else what to do with their body and mind. I can tell them what I would do if they ask but it is their choice. If it is killing then it will be them that faces it when they pass on. I don't think any one person has the right to judge others for that kind of choice.

touchy subject don't you think?
everyone has a right to free expression and every woman has a right to make the decisions that she does right or wrong...

Sometimes it's the right decision rape, beaten women, illness to women or just their reason.
God does forgive and loves all of us and the people who condemn everyone else shame on YOU! They are no different from you or I no one is better than anyone else.
We have brains to make our decisions in our lives!
Oh and for some who are too young and get talked into keeping them some of those kids are abused, neglected so screwed up because they weren't wanted in the first place some of those mother could give a damn too selfish and still remain doing dope or whatever they were doing before their mistake happened....the child is not in a good environment from birth and before...
