How do you know which sorority (DST, AKA, ZPB, SGRho, etc) is for you? And how do you go by joining one?

Im thinking about joining one and Im not limiting my options to only black related sororities. How do you know that your ready for one?

sororities, even different chapters with the same name, differ from university to university. the best thing to do is visit as many of the houses as possible. if you're not into partying, make sure the sorority you pledge is a 'service' sorority. see what the girls are like at each house, and which sisters you most closely identify with. find out about their intermurals, what they've done on campus, etc. find out what their philanthropies are, and decide which ones are most important to you. find out what you're going to have to pay to be part of a sorority, and make sure you can afford it. pledging a sorority is a life-long commitment, make sure you really know as much as you can about the sorority you are pledging. search for the sororities you are most interested in online, they'll give you more info, and you can probably find out some famous sisters too.

Does your school have rush week? That's when they'll try and sell their sorority to you. They'll give you all the information you need to know. You choose the one you want to pledge, and they'll take care of the rest. Good luck!
