As I have a mind of my own and don't need Kerry Packers personal experience. I will continue to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. He died and was in the tomb for three days, and He tells me that there is a heaven and a hell, so think I'll believe Him and His word in the scriptures.
Kerry Packer I have never heard of and so what that he medically died, it obviously wasn't a real death where the soul leaves the body. He was unconscious and you accept the word of someone because he was rich, Well he will die one day, But Jesus rose from the dead after three days and is alive now and sitting at the right hand of God in Heaven. Praise the Lord.

I don't know what that guy was thinking...
He was fully recovered at the time? Sheesh...
If he claims to be a Christian, he should know that there is a Heaven and a Hell. He should also know to get his facts straight before speaking. A little something we Christians call faith- believing in something that isn't tangible. Air...you know it exists without being able to see it, right? Faith...we know that Heaven and Hell exist because we were told the truth about each. Jesus said He told the truth...He was perfect- He NEVER sinned...this would include lying to be a sin...He never lied. How do we know H e really existed? Faith.
I know it's confusing, but we're not meant to know everything- sometimes we just have to trust that things are as they say they are.

so am i correct in assuming we are suppose to take kerry packer's word over God'???

Ummm...excuse me: but I dare not call God a liar...and the other dude: well, he don't know what he's talking about.

And look at it this way: Heaven is for eternity, as well as Hell ---

Does 8 minutes count as Eternity. Ofcourse not. While he may have been legally pronounced dead; God knew he was returning, so why would he [God] reveal Kerry Packer's eternal destination in advance. God is much smarter than that.

that proves nothing...except the dude had a close call, and God was gracious enough to allow him to return to life.

Seeing that brain damage occurs in SIX MINUTES - I would say the man experienced a miracle if he has all his faculties in order.

Secondly - No one knows for certain how fast it takes to get to hell or if we just sleep in the grave (also called hell) until Judgment day. Either way Hell as in Hades or Hell as in Grave - thats a given.

And his experience proves nothing. He may not have been dead - dead. We don't have all the details of this story - IF it even occurred. So far we just have YOUR says so - no links to a news article, nothing.

I thought Kerry Packer was an atheist? Sure he might have gone to a christian school like we all did back in the day, but I'm quite positive he was a notable atheist when he was an adult, that's one of the things that I liked about the man.

There is no explaining it. After 18+ years of catholic education, I can't explain it either, no one can because there have not been many people that have died for 8 minutes and brought back to life, and those who have, have had many different stories. There may not have been a Heaven or Hell to him, and there's no one that can confirm or deny what he experienced spiritually. If it changes your beliefs, so be it, that does not excuse or give you or anyone else to go sociopath on the rest of us. Standards of society will still prevail.

The Devil would want no more than for you to believe a lie like this one and end up in Hell with him. If you take the word of one encounter of a so called death over hundreds of eye witnesses and God's word then you are still searching but have not found the real truth. GO TO A CALVARY CHAPEL...... THEY PREACH GOD'S WORD EVERY TIME..... but you will need to give it a fair chance to prove it wrong. In doing so you should attend for at least 6 months...... the best thing is find your need and ask them to fullfill it...... ie., if you are young, go to a youth group..... 20's to 40's, attend a mid week study and sunday.

because being dead is a state of nothingness-you dont see, hear, feel, taste, smell or even think anymore. It is obvious that when kerry packer was supposedly dead he neither saw heaven nor hell because in fact, there isnt YET and it goes to the christians' teachings that heaven and hell is yet to come.
(dont mistake the teachings of the catholic church to the true doctrine of the dead, ok?) and by the way, there isnt any purgatory either.

He wasn't really dead. He just was in holding. There are physicists who believe there is scientific evidence that supports a multi-dimensional existence. From the tiniest atom, there is an order, some greater force exerting its energy in everything. Many of the greatest scientists, even Eistein himself, believed this. Many people report death experiences. Many report similar experiences with great detail. Join a Yahoo Groups on these experiences.

Ever been to either one yourself or even been under anesthesia? If you have, you know the answer. You have no sensation of either and it is just like you have only fell asleep and you are waking up. Just because one or two people want to say there is no Heaven or Hell means nothing. I know someone that has been to Heaven and has been here and I would believe HIm long before I would believe anyone telling lies.
