I just love this word. I think I fell in love with it when a girl said "your budgie bird"

I love the word budgie! I get visions of tiny little birds sitting around and gossiping like grannies in a nursing home. The alternative word 'parakeet' always gets me frustrated as I know seven different species of 'parakeet' and only one 'budgie'! Most folks don't know that parakeets includes Conures, Alexandrian Ring Necks and Rosellas! Not to mention the grass 'keets such as the Bourke's and Red Rump >.< . I feel like asking them what species of parakeet do they want information about? LOL!

I love budgies and the word budgie! It's a really cool word. Budgies are of course really cool pets :) I have over 3,000 budgie fans in my forum at http://www.lisashea.com and we all love budgies, so you are definitely not alone.

Did you know that budgie is short for the full name for the budgie, which is budgerigar - taken from the Aborigine phrase for "good to eat"? Luckily we don't eat budgies any more!

Yeah you could possibly be the only person in this world obsessed with that word! I have 20 budgies in my backyard and have never once thought of that as an interesting word.

I don't mind the word 'budgie smugglers' have you heard of that? If you haven't, it's the word for DTs, Speedos, male swimming attire.

Hey, I have 2 of their(Budgie) albums. They're an early 70s band from England who sound like a cross between Led Zep & Rush.
Good music!

Budgies are from England and they are a little bit bigger than our parakeets in the USA. Petco sells both parakeets and budgies. I love the word too.

Please gimme between the chicks...eh...puppies... how approximately gimme their Chicks+puppies= CHUPS? lol nope...that is weirdly humorous...yet in specific situations miracles do take place. perhaps they like one yet another very plenty...that is all. the two are social animals. you're fortunate!
