If yes, how can you prove to others it is God talking to you? And what sort of things does he tell you?

I've studied the scripture all of my life in church, unviersity and daily home study. If you have a message for me that is from God, how can I know that God has made you his prophet?

Yes, God talks to me. Really tells me things. I don't think I could get by in my day to day life without this guidance.

I don't know that I could, or would feel the need to, prove what He's told me to anybody. What He's said to me is FOR me. He's not apt to give me a message for you - He'd tell you, unless you're not listening.

He did, one time, give me a message for somebody else. I had a friend who was going to marry a girl just because it was easier not to make waves - she'd moved herself in with him and started planning the wedding, and it was just too much trouble to him at that point in his life to make a scene and change what she was planning.

God told me that I had to stop this, and I actually argued with Him about it - told Him that there was just no way I could go to my friend and interfere in his life that way, it just wasn't any of my business. After weeks of arguing with God about this, I finally told him that I was terrified of doing what He asked. It was at that point that I learned a true and firsthand definition of the word "terrified," and realized that this really did not apply to my situation with my friend. THAT part is another story.

I called him and asked to meet, and when we did, I told him that I felt very strongly that he shouldn't be marrying this girl. I gave good reasons and explanations, but never once mentioned that God had told me to have this conversation. He agreed with me, was glad I'd said it out loud to him and made him face it, was glad somebody cared enough to tell him so, and he went straight home and broke it off with her. A year or so later he met the greatest love of his life, married her and has been happy all these years.

I don't feel the need to explain or prove to anybody that God talks to me. That is all between Him and me, and I treasure it as a fact of my life. But if God DID give me a message for you because you weren't paying enough attention, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute in passing that message on - I just wouldn't necessarily tell you that the message was from God, and I don't believe that he would expect me to do so.

When my husband and I separated due to his alcoholism, I went to church everyday and cried and prayed at the altar. I was pregnant but didn't tell him yet. I didn't want him coming home for the wrong reasons. I prayed that God would take this disease away from him. After weeks of doing this, every single day, something miraculous happened. One day as I was standing up from the altar ready to leave, I heard a voice as clear as clear could be. A voice as angelic and strong and soothing as I've ever heard. And it said: "Know as you leave this altar, he is healed" My husband and I reconciled within the week. He never had a drinking problem again. That was January 2002.
***In response to smiling sam, how self righteous to say this. Read your Bible. Remember, God spoke thru a donkey once. Nobody can truly say how God choses to communicate with His children. Shame on you.***

Prove, prove, prove. You people really don't get it. God speaks to His children through the indwelling Holy Spirit, and not in words. By the way, I'm not interested in proving it to others; I just tell them the truth about salvation and let God take it from there. If you are familiar with the parable of the sower, you must know there's plenty of "rocky soil" around today.

Yes, one time God gave me a word to give to my friend and I called her and told her what i think God wanted me to say and she said it was conformation for her to declare her major. and then later we were reading some scriptures and my friend opened a page from touch points and read a scripture that was exactly the words that i told her week(s) before.
-you can only prove by, like a prophet, when what He says come to pass, when its in agreement with His word, and through conformations of the thing God has spoken to you. Trust God and trust God that He will not lead you astray. ANd if God gives you a word to tell a friend tell the person and you not sure if you heard correctly or not tell your friend that you are not sure that it is from God and proceed to tell her what you heard.
-The sort of things he tell you to do is infinite, he told me to talk to some one about him, he told what was going to happen, what I should do, its limitless, and if you ask God he will answer you

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY and spend time with God one on one speak and listen, listen and speak that's all, God just wants to spend time with you

Yes, God talks to me.
Why would I try to prove to anyone that God is talking to me? Either God will talk to you Himself, or He won't. If He does, you won't need me to tell you it's Him.
What is said between us is personal between me and Him.

God only talks to me after I've been "partying" with my friends and am pretty hammered.

When you try to talk to god... that's 'prayer'. When you think you hear god talking to you... that's 'schizophrenia'.
