please tell me what you find offensive about my church. Right now we are working on two projects. We are stripping the lead based paint off of two houses in our neighborhood and repainting them. We are also mowing lawns, doing yardwork for elderly people in our area. We bring in food for local soup kitchens. We have sent flyers around the neighborhood twice a year advertiseing a clothing giveaway. we have a fall festival every year. by the way there is no charge for any of this. when my husband lost his job (he is an atheist) people in my church offered us money. one girl offered to type up a resume for him. when my son had surgery they brought us meals. i could go on and on. but i would like to know what about this offends you.

if you thought i was trying to be holier than thou in this post that was not my intention. I am sorry if i offended anyone. I just wanted you to know that not all Christians are hate mongers. I do not hate gays.I would never be as rude or nasty as some of you have been to me in this post.

My dear child, nothing about what you say offends me. I, for one happy pagan person, am over joyed to find a church that really does help its members. I've seen too many of them that don't. I try not to bash Christians, although fundementalists do concern me. Everyone has to have their own faith. I thank God that yours is strong and that you have a good community that supports you. Blessings on you all. :)

Your church does all those wonderful things, fine for the participants and the receivers of the good will. Thats not everybody nor can it be. You see Christianity isn't the church its the people, right? the basher people who don't know the benefit of giving could care less, yet Christians imagine that those who don't care, should care. Because of this should, all Christians are bashed. And we are not doing what Jesus teaches because he said that by our example of good living would others want to join in, not by how we insist others should behave.

ok, absolutely nothing about that offends me (btw, however, my NHS group does that too and we have no religious affiliation). however, what does offend me is how christians say that i, as an atheist, am going to hell. this applies also to all gays, jews, muslims, buddhists, taoists, murderers, rapists, drug addicts, aborters, etc. all of these people do have the capability of being very good people ( minus that murderers and rapists, ive found those to be two quite unforgivable crimes), but christians have never given these people a chance because they believe their christ is the only way to be a good person in any way, shape, or form. i am not a bad person, i have never been a bad person, i just dont believe in god. can you honestly tell me that i am going to hell simply for not believing that there is a all-powerful being in the sky who created the universe and everything in it in just 6 days? that his son came to earth, performed miracles, and died for my sins to be forgiven? that there will be a man that comes out of europe with a birthmark that looks like a "666", who will bring peace to the earth for 7 years after which will ensue chaos and a battle between him and christ for dominion over earth? no, christ and christ's teachings of love and acceptance of helping your fellow man (what you and your group are doing), but what does offend me is christian dogma and the christian superiority dance for all of those things, while they disregard the things they claim are so sacred.

Note: I AM of the Christian faith.

Most of the "nonbelievers" are against the religeon because the Christian faith was forced upon many different cultures by invaders. Most notably Norway.

U cant insult ppl and then expect them to like u it doesnt work like that and it wont until we all learn to respect each others beliefs! As for the work u and ur church does that is wonderful, it is always good to help others in need! That doesnt offened me at all:-)

Because alot of religions believe that if you don't believe the way "they "do that you are wrong or immoral. They also deny rights to others such as the right to gay marriage for example. I think we should respect everyone beliefs, but your personal religious beliefs shouldn't prevent others from living the life they want as long as they are law abiding tax paying members of society.

Want to know what offends us? Your inablity to live by the selfsame morals you try and force down everyone else's throats.
Matthew 6:6 says "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. "
But what you're doing (as described above) is the opposite. Sending out flyers, advertizing ect...
You are not doing this secretly. So, you are breaking your own rules.
That's why.

You dont understand why people bash Christian.

It has nothing to do with all of that helping other people stuff.

It has to do with how your belief system has carried over into places it shouldnt be: schools, governments, streets, and text books.

I bash the religion, not the people within [unless your a stupid "god hates fags" member. Then I will actually bash you.].

Please get that right. Not everyone bashes the people within. Its the religion itself.

Your actions are excellent. It is just unfortunate that you follow a distorted line of reasoning when you try to justify your beliefs, and it ticks off anyone who believes in sanity. Atheists also help the poor and others, but they are minus the crazy dogmas.

Thank you for speaking up to Christian bashers. They need to know the truth. These are the things that true Christians do in the real world.
