good question, im guessing a farmer who had them as a pet, and when they had babies, he found out that milk comes from there to feed the babies, So it became a drink.

Early humans who got tired of being alone so they socialized dogs and cows and pigs and chickens to have around as company and lunch when times were tough.

it must be the same person that though ill just pick this weird looking fungus and eat it to se if its poisinous or not (mushrooms ) how did they know the difference from that to a toadstool !?.
