Since the only proof of gods is belief and books filled with the beliefs of other people, what would cause you to believe or disbelief? How do you believe the unprovable? How do you prove the unbelievable? God? No God?

I know why I do, but why do you care?

I am a seeker of belief. I have come to a point where I feel there might be a meaning behind everything but I am still not sure. I want to believe in God, but I can not find the faith necessary to sustain a belief in him.

I used to be a full fledged Atheists, until I realized that the meaning of my life was moreso to show Theists that God is illogical, now I question myself. Why would I care so much about what theists think? Why do I seek to crush their hope, etc, etc. Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps there is something more to life than I am aware of.

God or no God, I have no clue. I care because I need to know if there is a meaning behind life. Very illogical, but at this point so is life without a meaning.

Your mini series of question here have so many assumations and personal views that it is difficult to the max in even knowing where to start---I think some times that is the basic premise on which so many of these kinds of posts are made--sling so many varied personal view premises at a question that any way you approach the answer ---it appear to be incomplete

First of all---I'll take your last statement on ---how do you prove the unbelievable----unbelievable to who ??? YOU ???----you call God unbelievable yet millions believe---what is that ?? So what I gather here is HOW DOES ONE PROVE GOD TO YOU-- and the answer to that is----you don't---and why ?? because you have made up your mind and it is impossible to prove anything to anyone who is set theirselves against it........

Next ----the only proof is belief and books filled with the beliefs of others----there again ---that is YOU and YOUR view----for there are tens of thousands of people who will swear before God and man of miracles within their own experience and changes within their own lives that could literally only come from a devine source and there are medical records by the thousands of miracles of healings and unexplained turns that have come for tens of thousands of people because of prayer and devine intervention----millions of personal experiences of individuals where they swear that they have been the reciepients of blessings that could have only come from a source outside the common nature of things----and millions of these experiences are documented for anyone that cares to look into the matters---major TV shows have featured hundreds of show on the subject of how people believe in pray and how it has effected even nonbelievers who have witnessed these things----yet YOU SAY THAT THERE IS NO PROOF OUTSIDE OF ONLY BELIEF AND BOOKS FILLED WITH THE BELIEFS OF OTHERS----who the hell are you to make such arbitrarially wrong statements as if THEY WERE GOSPEL ?????

and then there is the HOW DO YOU BELIEVE THE UNPROVABLE ??? ---There again---unprovable to who---YOU---and that is simply because it will not be proved to you---but you can not make the arbitrary statement that because these things can't be proven to you that there are not millions of people that have had literally all the proof THEY need to feel very good in the beliefs they have established---IT LIKE YOUR SAYING THAT YOU KNOW BETTER SOMEHOW THAN MILLIONS OF OTHERS---THAT BECAUSE YOU DON'T BELIEVE AND THINK THAT ALL THIS IS BELIEF IN NOTHING THAT ALL THESE OTHERS MUST BE DORKS AND IDIOTS AND ONLY YOU ARE THE BRIGHT AND THOUGHT THROUGH ONE----WHAT A MEGLAMANIAC POSITIONING THAT IS

In closing ---it is somehow a continuing saga to me that so many that position theirselves against religion and the thought of God feel such a need to disprove it that they spend more time working at that than they do at almost anything else---you would think that with no God to answer to for the things you do or don't do in this life---you would have far better things to put your attentions to like the pursuit of unbridled passions and lasivious living and gluttony and averousness and all the other things being cut free from judgement would afford you----but no--- you spend untold time and energy harassing believers and prosilitizing against the people of faith as if it were an obcession---just an observation but it seems to me to be a standardized things with all of you that this thing of anti-religion IS your relilgion

YOU asked some bizarre questions....... like why do you care? that is odd. why does anyone care what you believe. Now if we go to some of your searching questions.....unprovable..... God or No God? Believe that there are 66 books that make up the Bible of which were written by many different authors...... the most amazing thing of the bible ever are the predictions of Jesus Christ.... ask any theologian. They will let you know how impossible it would of been to make any number of the predictions come true, let alone hundreds of them.

I bear witness to the fact that God is a loving God who knows us intimately in this Age of Grace. He wants us to listen to His Son, who speaks for Him...He is the Word of God. How do we know that?

For me, I had just left an abusive relationship and my
life was on the line. My husband had a gun out and was
going to shoot me. I ran...and got on a plane to San
Fran. On the plane I was shaking uncontrollably and
looked out the window...we were above the clouds...the
beauty of what I was looking at just flooded me until
nothing else was there...peace filled me. I heard
myself say, "God, if you're really there...I put my
life in Your hands. I've failed miserably at
everything...I can't do it anymore." And then I
finally started crying. The sobs came from deep inside
me, all the repressed fear, hurt, pain came flooding
out. And then I heard a gentle whisper in my
head..."I've always had you...you've never been out of
my sight...I even saw you when you tied your first
shoelace." And then it was like a liquid warmth filled
me. I thought I would melt into oblivion. It was like
I had given Him my mess, and He would give me His
help. And He did.

When I got off the plane it was as though everyone
went out of their way to help me. I found a place to
live, a job, and found that I was right across the
street from a christian community. After I got settled
I heard the gentle voice again. He said, "I want you
to meet My Son." So I went into a meeting at the
christian center and heard about Jesus. I learned
about the Gift God offers through Him. And having
experienced God first hand I had no trouble receiving
what His Son had to Give, and what He had to Say. So,
it didn't begin with a Book for me, it began with an
encounter. The Book came later.

Seek the Son while He may be found...once you pass through Him by accepting His Gift, then He gives you His Spirit to teach you and show you all that He wants you to know. He uses the Bible, other people, situations...but you're no longer trying to figure everything out yourself. You are given a Helper.

If it were provable, it wouldn't really be believing. My question to you is how do you believe the provable? Is it really possible to disbelieve something that you see right in front of you? As for proving the unbelievable, the Wright brothers and Lance Armstrong are some examples of people who've done that.

I really don't care, so I'm going to stop spending time on this answer now.

The bible tells me that each of us was born aware of God, we let reason and wordly pursuits get in the way of our relationship with Him. I believe this is true because in my experience I've seen that children understand God infanitely better than adults. We try to apply reason, they just believe. I can see God all around me, living among His creation. That is all I need to afirm my belief. It didn't come from the bible at first. I didn't understand the bible until I knew God. The word says that will happen as well. We have to become children.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Romans 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

I have chosen the road of non-belief. [Atheist]

I personally believe that if there was a god he/she/it would show themselves or make themselves known to non-believers.

Also, people have taken the idea of religon [which was originally implimented to keep people in line] and made it about power and control.

Another reason why I dont want to believe something like that.

Think about it this way if you want to,
Look at hand watch, it is complicated system, their must be someone who made that watch and it cannot exist by coincidense.
The same way, this universe is very complicated system, thier must be creator for this universe.
Also, trust me, reading the Holy Quran and trying to understand it might make you believe that this book cannot be written by anyone except God.
And Allah knows better.
Thank you.
