I just came up on a year being sober and i have not yet been to one meeting i used to go the first time i got sober but this time around is different the main difference being that i stopped useing because i found out i was pregnant. I am so scared of going back my boyfriend is scared of meetings cause he thinks i will just hook up with people to get high with in there, i quess what i want to know is what do you think helps you stay sober and do you go to n/a meetings and if you do then do you think they help?

I found going to meetings helped me recover,I'm going on my fourth year and still go occasionally, my biggest fear is backsliding and using again. My two teenage kids have since moved in with me and I find they're a good reason for my sobriety. Maybe you can invite your boyfriend to a meeting and ease his mind.

wow you've managed to stay sober without a program. if you're asking about staying sober, i'll guess that you're struggling with it. it's the basics that you need to get back in to....attending the meetings, doing the stepwork, hooking in with ppl in the program, getting a sponsor. your bf doesn't understand the program.....you can explain to him that going to a meeting helps you to stay clean because others are there with the same objective. it isn't a place to pick up ppl or to get high or whatever else. for sure na meetings work, and then you need to do more than just that. congrats on your 1 year!
