Hey! You didn't say how old you are but parents usually don't do this sort of thing to be mean. You said you've already tried cleaning up after your dog. How did that go?
Probably what your parents are considering is that a puppy needs lots more care than just cuddling, feeding, watering etc. It must be walked on a daily basis. You must clean up the dog doo if if goes on someone else's property not to mention house breaking the puppy to begin with (not an easy task my dear) I could go on and on and on.
I don't want you to think I'm not being sensitive to your wants or needs, I was a very lonely little girl myself a long time ago.
Maybe you could talk to your parents about another kind of pet that doesn't require such high maintenance. I have no idea what that might be, but I know there is something out there for you at this stage of your life.
I do hope you get a puppy soon and that you love it and do care for it yourself. That day IS coming sweetie
Good Luck and God Bless

You do not say how old you are. Maybe your parents think you are not old enough to be a responsible pet owner. Most often when a kid wants a pet, they will help care for it the first week or two and then after the new wears off, they forget to feed and water it, or take it for walks. Maybe this has happened with you and your pets before. You said there is already fur all over the house. Was this from one of your animals that you also promised would be your responsibility? Show them that you are old enough and mature enough to care for an animal and they may let you get your puppy.

This is easy!
First, stop asking for a puppy & prove that you can handle the responibility of having one. It's just immature to tell someone you're responsible... if you have to tell them, it just means you're not doing enough to show them.
If you're as desperate as you sound, you should be willing to go so far as vacuum, sweep, and clean up after the pets you already have if you want this puppy so badly. The important thing here is you have to do some of this *every day* without giving your parents a chance to ask you to do it first. If you're taking the initiative to care for animals without your parents nagging you to do it, they'll realize that you ARE responsible enough to have a puppy.
But keep this in mind, if you tell them you're doing all that work just to prove how responsible you are, they'll think you won't stick with it for the long run. This is where you have to be patient; you will have to help out with cleaning up for awhile before they realize how serious you are. If you do this for just a couple days then break down & complain about wanting a dog it will only make them think you're immature and can't handle the long-term resonsibility of having your own dog. And they would be right!
Show them you're responsible through your actions, that's the only way to prove it... stop telling them & start showing them!
I would wish you good luck, but you don't need it... you just need hard work!

A dog is a long term responsibility. It takes time, money, and responsibility to be a pet owner. If you really want this dog, you will need to show your parents that you will invest your time and money and take full responsibility for it. The only way to show your parents that you are serious is to take responsibility for things around the house. Find ways to earn money and save it so that you can pay for health care when the dog needs it. If you continue doing this, they might believe you.

You need to write a paper and get positive facts about dogs. I did that and I got 2 dogs!

Okay, I don't really understand how you think it is that we are going to help you. We can't get you one and we can't club your parents over the head and make them give you a puppy either.
