in the military they get up first thing and excercise then they eat breakfast so I am thinking that since that is the way I was taught that it is the right way to do it just make sure you don't over eat after a hard work out or you will gain weight.

I always run in the morning, very early. I drink coffee to get me going. My husband drinks a little juice and coffee, but neither of us eats before running. It's fine. Just be careful that your appetite doesn't grab hold of you after you finish. We drink a bottle of water (32oz) before eating- then you have less space in your belly.
I just read that women who eat a scrambled egg and toast for breakfast ate 22% fewer calories and 15% less fat at lunch than those who ate bagel and yogurt. (b/c of grain+protein, I assume) This was a study at St. louis U.
good luck with your new schedule

Lots of people I know run in the morning....if you are just going for a short run ( 30 minutes or less) , you should be fine. Longer than that you should eat something before your run ( and after as well).

sure, it is a very undesirable concept. The nutrition is on your abdomen for as much as 3 or 4 hours reckoning on what you ate and your digestive equipment. consume after coaching, which includes protein, you may have a easy snack, which includes oatmeal before working, yet no longer a huge breakfast.

I think it's a great idea to run before breakfast and will give good results. Running after is not a good idea.

Running before you eat shouldn't be a problem. However, try to avoid running right after you eat. Your body is busy trying to digest food and if you run, you could overheat or overwork and get sick. At the very least, it is hard on your digestion.

This is actually supposed to be the best time to run if you want to burn fat. Your body's glycogen levels are at it's lowest levels so when you start burning energy your body should theoretically go straight to burning fat stores.
