I used to let my three year old take showers on her own. She would just make up songs and play with all my stuff. I would come wash her hair and notice that all my soap was gone...or that water was in places I thought was physically impossible..

my three year old son loves to play in the shower. he has 'bath' toys in the shower that he plays with. i cannot readily understand how\why you would not know what your three year old is doing in the shower since i agree with other respondents when they indicate concern over leaving a three year old alone in the shower for long enough to not know what they are doing. anyways, i am sure your three year old is playing, but please keep an eye on him\her to confirm safety.

Why is your three year old in the shower alone??????? At three, she is not old enough to properly wash her hair, or body without your help...Not to mention she could slip, fall and crack her skull open...
Why not try being an actual parent, and helping your three year old so you know what she's doing in there?

Wow, brings back memories! I used to let the tub fill up while I soaped up, and then the tub became a "lagoon"....and I had a washcloth...that I held the corner of while I pulled it through the water all around me, pretending it to be a "fish". Great fun...!!

I'm sure with everyone else, she is playing. My child does the same thing...plays.... I'll leave her alone for awhile, and come back to find she has "washed herself" as well as the entire tub, and all her toys... she'll just lay in the water, and listen to the water in her ears...
I do call her name, and have her respond to me so that i know she is ok.. and I tell her that is why I wanted an answer from her just so that I know she is ok..

playing, don't worry shes only 3 but maybe check on her because she may drown with her face under the water a long time

This is a bogus question. You wouldn;t know what she does in there? You dont check on her? A 3 year old shouldn't be left in the bathtub period!

she is 3... she gets side tracked! That is why kids of that age do not shower alone!
