wow, that's so cool that you asked. my sister and i were just talking about how much we love are same old beach snack routine that we've been doing for twenty years. apples and peanut butter if you're actually on the beach in the hot sun because neither needs to be refrigerated. If you're inside the beach house add cheese and crackers. Have fun!!!

Have the picnic lunch at sunset if you can. Technically it wont be lunch anymore but you'll have the awesome scenery and the weather wont be as hot.

Some kind of cold salad, like chicken salad or shrimp salad. Or cold fried chicken. Fresh fruit. Maybe a cold glass of wine or iced tea.

My last picnic on the beach was my favorite.
We had cold chicken salad sandwiches on large onion rolls with crisp lettuce.
Guacamole with large chunks of tomato in it, seved with tortilla chips
a bowl of watermelon, cantelope and honey dew melon chunks
a couple of bananas
and to drink, we had white wine. (Chardonay) and iced tea.
For dessert we had Chips-A-Hoy cookies and devil's food cookies.

fruit salad -- cut up:
cantaloupe
watermelon
grapes (no need to cut them)
strawberries
kiwi
that's pretty much all i bring to the beach (besides a lot of water), but then i don't like to eat meat when it's hot.

I find that red seedless grapes, cubes of sharp cheddar cheese and red wine (doesns't need chilling) are wonderful. I'd follow it with home made brownies or chocolate chip cookies. YUM!
