If you chamber a round in a semiautomatic handgun and then eject the magazine can you still fire the chambered round? I assume you can, but was just curious.

I was wrong before--for some reason I didn't see "handgun."

There are some handguns with the lockout feature, but once you chamber a round you can often fire that round from the handgun. However, some guns do come with the "lockout" feature so it isn't altogether clear if that would work with your gun.

That would depend on the handgun. Some handguns cannot be fired if the magazine is removed, others can. Many of the police semi automatic handguns cannot be fired with the magazine removed. This is a safety precaution. If a policeman is about to have his handgun taken from him, he can eject the magazine and the gun won't fire. An example of one handgun that can be fired with the magazine removed is the Colt Model 1911 .45 caliber handgun. Many others will also fire with the magazine removed. I have several semiautomatic handguns and they can all be fired with the magazine removed.

OH MY! what proportion cases did you chamber that first cartridge?! seems such as you're employing Hydra Shocks and Hydra Shocks are not precisely easy plenty. Bullets seated this deeply will create intense stress and it is risky in spite of decreased plenty! different than the deeply seated bullet, the brass itself does not look sturdy in any respect. i've got by no potential seen various chew marks brought about with the aid of an extractor on ANY stay ammo before! The rim on the two cartridges have been badly worn. i does no longer be too stunned in case you journey extraction issues once you may desire to fire your gun for risk-free practices. Do your self a huge want. do away with this batch of ammo ASAP and feed your gun some sparkling ammo. That deeply seated around is extra risky than the could be assailant. only out of interest. How previous have been that batch of ammo? i could somewhat like to understand how plenty time replace into required to worn down a conical hollow component right into a around nostril. thank you for the %.. they are very relaxing.

ok dude if you eject the magazine you still can fire that round. there may be guns now that have safety devices that prevent that but all the handguns ive owned have been able to fire without the magazine.

It depends on the gun. some have a safety feature that prevents it from firing when there's no magazine (my hi-point 9mm has this feature). Some will let you fire a round in the chamber if there's no magazine.

for safety, always assume that your gun WILL fire the round and that it's loaded. don't get stupid.

for information, check the manual that came with your firearm

More idiots have been shot by a chambered round in an allegedly empty gun then almost any other way. Thank God you're smart enough to ask.

Yes, you can. After you remove the clip you have to clear the chamber to completely disarm the weapon.

yes you can because the round is now loaded into the breech of the weapon and not in the magazine.
