I can't say as to whether he abused his ex or not. I can only tell you, that being a man myself, I would never plead guilty to something that I did not do. It sounds like there might be some truth to the charge. What kind of example did he set for the kids? Lie when things get tough, maybe? Plea bargain to avoid the possibillity of harsher actions? My dad taught me to stand for what is right, win, lose or draw. In the end all you have is your integrity. My advise is to reconsider your situation before end up hurt. I'm sorry that I am being so blunt. In my line of work I see a lot of liars(I'm a pi). I wish you luck and you may contact me if you need a back ground check conducted at toddmayo@yahoo.com.

This is a warning sign. He had to have done something in order to be arrested. I was in an abusive relationship, but I never called the police - I should have. So if he has a record, then he did some type of criminal behavior. After my divorce, I dated someone who had the same type of story. He said all charges were dropped. I found out he not only lied about this, but other things as well. Besides, how is pleading innocent for the kid's sake? If he were really innocent, he would want the kids to know. You could research it. All of his records are available through the county public records. I researched the guy I was dating, and found out a lot about him. Good luck and have the strength to move on. Believe me, I know how hard it is.

I dont know why you would go out with him. I would say leave I know its easier said then done but its better then getting beat by someone who isn't even your husband. I wouldn't overlook this because you could be the next victim just hope he doesn't come after you with a death list if you break up
I really hope good turns out

The very fact that you are on here asking that question means that you feel in your heart that you should take it as a warning sign. What makes you think that someone who would hit their wife wouldn't lie about it?
If you are a smart cookie, end it, (preferably in a public place), and find someone without issues.

This is a not a good thing to have to wander about.
I say if he was accused ans served probation should that not tell you some thing.
Get ot now while you still are alive.
Find some one with no history of any kind of abuse.
Please , you can;t save people only they can save them selves.

listen to your inner voice..always keep your eyes open..i find it hard to believe that he pleaded guilty if he was innocent...you can always have a background check ran on him and see if he has any more domestic charges..most police depts will run one if you explain that he has had one charge already...good luck

you should always listen to your inner voice if it tells you to run then do so. Ex-wives do lie and it could be the case but you have to be careful b/c it is easy to end up in a cycle of abuse.

That's a warning, nothing else, you have to pay attention to the details, how he behave, how he deals with adversity, is he a violent guy? maybe he is telling you the truth, maybe not, you have to have extra precaution, and observe him with special attention to the detail.
