This morning my roommate (really my mom but roommate sounds better) saw my 17 year old "guest" coming back to my room this morning,I am 23 and taking the year off to find myself after trying college,so she flips out and yells for the girl to leave then she takes her sweet time fixing my breakfast ,can you believe it. I guess what I want to know is ,is 6 years too big a gap and was it wrong to kind of smack my mom (it wasn't that hard)?

YES you where wrong to put your hands on a women especially your mother ~ a man should never hit a woman no matter what the reason. You need to understand what has your mother so upset & that would be the fact the her grown son is "befriending" a child that is only 17 years old. In most cases a 6 year gap wouldn't make a difference but in this case it does because this "guest" as you call her is under age & is still a child & your an adult.

yes, 6 years is to big of a age gap......you mom needs to wake up and smell the dang coffee. i mean do you really want her to date you friend. i would find that sick and everything else. if you ask me i would say that is wrong. but whatever floats your mom's boat. the real question is what does you mom really know about your friend?
I really dont have much room talk talk i like a guy he is 19 and i 22 with a child. he dont mind. i really dont know anymore....i only date guys that are year younger and 2 or 3 years older then me.....i believe however that is about to change.
like said do you really want your mom to date you friend? that would be weird and yes i would get my own place if i were you.

Well its not that big of a gap... just as long as you treat her right and the feelings are mutural and such... but you shouldn't have slapped your mom even if it wasn't hard... i mean she's trying to look out for you im assuming... but you should apologize to her for it and let her know that you are an adult now and you can date any girl that you wish. ((within reason lol jk))
