Ok, here's the deal, worship me, unconditionally, or goto hell, and burn for eternity. It doesn't matter if you like my views or whatever, what i say goes.
That's the way I see it. Sure there are some good things in the bible, but what about this for instance........
Deut 25:11-12
11 If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, 12you shall cut off her hand; show no pity.
yeah sure, it's a good philosophy, but who is really going to do this? Ok, done.

some of you say you have a choice, umm, no, worship me, or burn for eternity, there is no, well, you were a good person, therefore you can come to heaven, it's yeah, you were a great person, gave to the needy, but you are burning in hell anyway

OK, that's the way you see it.
I see it a bit differently. It's more like "Look, you guys keep messing up, and there are times I am sorry I ever began this project, but I love you, and I'm gonna do whatever it takes to restore your immortality and bring you home to live with Me...even if I have to take on mortal flesh Myself and die in your place."
LOL, I love that verse. I've never heard of one single instance of any wife having her hand cut off, though.
Let's take a poll of the ladies in the audience. Girls, would you grab some guy's privates to keep your hubby from getting his *ss kicked in a fight if you knew you were gonna get your hand cut off for it, or would you say, "sorry, Honey, maybe next time you ought not piss this guy off."
I wouldn't do it for my guy even though I know nobody's gonna cut off my hand, I would hope he'd learn a lesson, and not get into stupid brawls, the whole time I'm nursing his wounds.

It's not blackmail; it's grace! God gave us His Law. Anyone who breaks this Law is gulity of sin. All humans have sinned, no matter how 'good' they seem to one another or to themselves. God doesn't grade on a curve. Guilty is guilty. God then gave us a way out from under the condemnation that consequently follows being gulity. Why be upset with God that He made a way out, just because this way out doesn't seem to be to your liking? The fact that humans do not understand all the actions of a holy and truly perfect God doesn't mean there's something wrong with that holy and perfect God. It simply means we are not holy and perfect and cannot possibly understand Him Who is.

That's in the Old Testament Law...And Christians are not under the Law. When Christ died on the cross, He bridged the gap between God and man. We no longer have to abide by the Law, because Jesus saved us by His grace and covered us with His blood. He paid the price, so we wouldn't have to.
And by the way, in the same Old Testament Law...children were stoned for not obeying their parents. =P

Hi Mr. Secret
Your reference Deut 25:11-12 is not a writings for christians. We are not in a Mosaic era. We are in a christian era. God spoken unto us this christian era separate from the old Mosaic era.
Hebrews 1:1-2
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Unregenerated man can read the Bible, but his spirit can not feed on the word of God. You will never get it. Unless you get a grip on John 3.

Nope.
It's life. It's fresh air. It's freedom. It's love. It's joy.
It's a family the likes of which you've never seen.
And all God's children said.......

This was old Jewish law.
It's not blackmail. God is giving you a CHOICE. He wouldn't force you to make the decision to accept Him; that is your responsibility.
