Like all of the above persons stated, it can be anything. Even a food allergy...does not necessarily mean a thing, but you need to see a E.N.T. (Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist) or Internal Medicinist. don't assume it's from the smoking unless you have had that before after smoking a remember that reaction.
If you cannot get to a doctor, call your Health Insurance free Ask-A-Nurse Hotline and a Live Nurse will help you and fax over your symptoms to a doctor for follow-up if necessary.

Sore throats can mean many things. I get them a lot due to sinus drainage. I think that it is best to see a doctor.

It might be dry in your place, dry throats tends to sore after a while. for me I will take a tbl sppon or 2 of honey or corn syrup and then go to bed. usually in the morn I am fine.

ranging from low grade laryngitis through chronic infection to something more sinister
if it has been there for awhile go and get it looked at
