Well it was kind of nasty now that I think about it because the first time it's not always gonna be red. The first time I had my period it was brown and I thought I was having other problems and I asked my godmother and we figured out I was having my first period. I wasn't scared, I just didn't really know what to do. One day on my first period I started having horrilbe cramps that were so bad I cried and just laid in bed. I was 12 when I first got my period and by the time I was 14 I was wearing tampons and I'l never go back to pads. Actually, I'm on depo now and don't have periods at all.

When I had my first period, I wasn't scared. It was painful. Still is. I was at home when it happened. The first person to know was my mom.

I was 13 and I was in school. I knew what to expect, but I had mild stomach cramps and then it just started. Everyone in my Home Ec class knew what happened, but luckily they were all girls. I got to call my mother and go home, so it turned out well for me! So the first person I told was my teacher and then my mother. And I was....nervous, I guess. Going through a major change, but it's not scary at all. Don't get me wrong, my cycles are horrible, but they are different for everyone.

It was weird. I wasn't scared. I was a home and I told my mother. I hate having a period. I began getting the birth control shot and I haven't had period in a year and a half.

I was twelve and I was playing cards.
I called for my mom and she threw me a pad.
Very uneventful.
Went back and finished the game.
My friend was clueless.
I knew in the back of my mind it would come one of these days. The big book then was Are You There, God, It's Me, Margaret, by Judy Blume which is ALL ABOUT IT. There was some religious angst in it, but don't be fooled. It's a Period book.
