I believe the 4v has more power than the 2v, but the 2v will give you better gas milage.

The ford 351 cleveland is a unique motor in the fact that it had major differecnes in the heads. the 2v has average size ports and the 4v are extremly large, almost too large. Look on the heads out side on the top corner. If theres a 2 , 4 or m(modified) The 4v's go from $300 and up the 2vs and modified $50 - $75. look on ebay at the pics and you can see

The 4v heads and intake have bigger ports . the 4v heads do come in open and closed chamber styles , not just the closed chamber. There are aftermarket 4v intakes with the smaller ports for the 2v heads. The exhaust ports are bigger also, so the manifolds or headers will be different . This is the only ford engine that I know of that 2v and 4v parts dont interchange.

The correct answer is in the heads. All 2 bbl heads were open chamber as compared to the quenched chambers of the 4v heads. The ports are much larger on the 4v heads. 4v had higher compression ration from the factory because of the quenched heads. the cam and carb were different, but other than that, they were basically the same engine. One of my '71 Cougar's had one in it and it was a very nice engine to tweak, snappy and an all around good engine.

That is a carb setup, the "v" means venturi, in our language, the 2v is a 2 barrel and the 4v is a 4 barrel. the "c" represents that it is a cleveland engine. The 351 was made at 2 different plants and are slightly different, one was made at the cleveland plant ant the other was the windsor plant
Ex. 351c2v - 351 cid, made at the cleveland plant, 2 barrel
carb.
again "v" means venturi, it was a term used by Ford Motor company. It has absolutely nothing to do with heads. It is a carburetor setup.

one has 2 barrells, the other has 4. both only run on 2 barrells in normal driving, but when you floor it on a 4v all four barrells open up for more air/fuel mixture.

Previous answers are partially correct. The two barrel and four barrel clevelands used different cylinder heads as well as intakes and carburetors.
