Um, apparently I'm just cheap...
My mom's spare bedroom has jersey sheets- UGH!! They stretch, warp- pain in the... to keep straight.. NO JERSEY!!
Never tried sateen.. dunno
I've worn satin, and suspect that satin sheets would be a little slick for sleeping. I'd suggest that you move VEEERY CAREFULLY on satin sheets.
I have a set of flannel sheets- My husband doesn't like them- they're too warm. I like them in the winter, but then, I'm always cold. In the summer, I agree with my husband- the fuzzy makes them too warm.
For general use, I'd suggest a good-quality cotton weave with a high thread-count. They'll be durable, comfortable, natural-feeling (at least to me). They also provide a little traction for other bed-time activities.
Sweet dreams!

I like sateen sheets, with a thread count of 350 or more. They feel wonderful against the skin. I have 600 thread count sheets but they're pretty expensive, but 300-400 thread count sheets are pretty nice as well; I have mostly those. You can find inexpensive high count sheet sets at Target, TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

atleast 300 count threads but I wouldnt worry about anything higher than 450. Egyptian cotton, pima cotton or sateen. All are excellent. I am so spoiled now. These sheets are so soft.

I use to have only cotton sheets. Until my friend Connie Sue gave me satin sheets from Victoria's Secret.. In the master bedroom satin sheets. For all the other beds cotton sheets with a high thread count. I love my satin sheets. They are warm and feel very good on your skin.

I love the sateen sheets. They just feel so nice.
Jersey sheets are better in the cooler weather (my personal opinion).
