While looking into renting a cottage for a night, some listed had "2 person whirpool tubs" and some had "2 person jacuzzi tubs". What's the difference.

Everyone's correct here, Jacuzzi is just the brand name. Many hotel/rental property/vacation sites, brocheurs, etc will use both words in the same material for two reasons... first, if you're seeing it online, then that property will come up if someone types in "cottage with whirlpool" AND if they type "cottage with Jacuzzi." Just using the brand name means someone who searches for "cottage with whirlpool" will never see that cabin online. Second, for online and for printed material, variety in the wording makes it more interesting for the potential client to read. It's just like reading a restaurant menu; you'd get pretty bored if all the steak dishes were prepared "grilled." So they'll say "char-broiled" or "grilled over an open flame" or whatever, just to make it sound interesting, even though the filet and the Porterhouse are getting cooked in exactly the same way.

There's also always a chance that the "whirlpool" tubs are not actual Jacuzzi brand, so they can't legally market them as "Jacuzzi" so they say Jacuzzi when it's an actual Jacuzzi... gives the customer some name brand recognition and keeps people from complaining about their Moen tub when the ad says Jacuzzi.

Jacuzzi Whirlpool Tubs

Nowadays all are considered spas. Spas are normally along side in ground pools. When the manufacturers began making them free standing so people were installing them on decks etc a certain brand was known as a "hot tub", then all were called that. Now they are called spas by the pool companies and others that sell them. Jacuzzi is the same, they are a company that makes pool filter systems as well spa systems and their name is common with spas. A 2 person spa is small as well some call their jetted bathtub jacuzzi. A whirlpool tub is normally just the bathtub with jets, some call them a garden tub too. Call them.

Basically is all the same with few differences. Essentially the difference is jaccuzzies are larger versions and higher temp hot tubs. Most luxery baths will have a jetted hot tub in some fashion. The main differences will be that amount and placement of the jets and seating.
