When you know good people that are Pagans and you have heard of the peaceful ways of these people, why do you insist they are evil or have something to do with the devil? Why can't you just open yourselves to the fact that your pastor, parents, etc. don't know everything? Just because some of what your doctrine says is totally wrong, doesn't mean you have to junk all of it. Could you please quit being so hard and narrow?

I didn't lump all together; I aimed my question at the narrow minded or narrow hearted.

Maybe I didn't ask clearly: what I want to know is how someone can say I know this person is kind and peace loving, but is pagan so is evil?

I agree with you. Can we all please be nice. I'm atheist and a good person, why should I or anyone else be singled out. Isn't compassion, care and peace what everyone wants regardless of their religion?

Could you do us the same favor and not bunch us all together and think were all narrow minded? I think that is very narrow minded of you.
Just because you don't agree with, and or can't accept the beliefs (or lack of) doesn't nessarily make either party wrong, just different.
What gets to me is those that use false facts to "prove" there points. And that goes for BOTH sides. There are far too many kids on this site quoting things they don't understand. Just because it sounds right to them. Personally, I tend to believe those that have tirelessly studied the topics, and have pretty much dedicated there lives to it. I'm not really going to believe somebody that has just "looked into" the subject, and have made there ideas up based on opinion.
The bottom line is there is no proof that God does or does not exist 2+2 does NOT equal God, nor does it prove that he does NOT exist.
I think the thing we all need to realize, is that i'm wrong, i'm perfect, and everybody else in the world is srewed up, wrong and misguided. hehe
(And if you can't detect the sarcasm in my last statement, you need more help then ANYBODY or any God can give you)

Let me ask the question...have you looked into diffrent religions? I really don't need to know because I know it takes a while to study other reigions. you will find that they are all the same...do this and you're to the place you want to be. will that seems good and all but there is something missing...the act of being in the world.
God tells us to be not of the world but in the world. your question sound very "hard and narrow" to me. I am a christian...but I love to sutdy diffirent reiligons. And you should do the same...I'm not saying to mass, temple, or meeting place...just study and see what is really out there because there are so many diffirent religions out that fall under the same idea God (of the Bible) is not real, live this way and you will go to heaven.
let try to be a little open minded to everyone and learn something for the day. later

I am a pagan and feel i cant even discuss it with certain friends even though i have known them for years. Some ppl believe in the propaganda that is strewn around and don't even look into other types of belief systems. As a pagan i have also studied the bible, been on the alpha course and and also studied a few other religions. But the ppl that vilify our beliefs are the very ppl that have no knowledge of them.

I think you are speaking defensively when you make this remark, because not everyone disagrees with your religion. A person would really have top study every religion to decipher what TRULY matches their beliefs. Some People go along with the religion they were born into. maybe because it would take to much effort to resist those who pressure them.. look at some catholics and Jews, or Jehovah witnesses. atheists I think make up their own mind, (even though I do not agree with them). All these new religions! Some people make them up!!!! Mormons, someone made that religion up, research it if you don't believe me!
Point I would like to make, is don't worry what people think, its what you believe in your heart. There's no fighting that. But don't hate someone because of theirs. To me, that is about as intelligent as loving chocolate, and thinking someone else is stupid or less of a person because they hate chocolate...
peace

i do believe that in a section such as this close minds are a given-not something to get to upset with-is easy to blow off those responses and just return the open ones-you do have a choice in this-as they are allowed theirs-still do believe that enough good comes out of answers that the freedom of all who are on here is worth the hassles of some inappropiate thoughts that come with it-remember what you see as narrow minded they see as a golden path-keep the peace old hippie here

My daughter is a wiccan, I was raised first christian, but am more a follower of what most think is pagan...my cherokee heritage and studies of other beliefs taught me that everything is one and connected allows me to not judge others and accept everyone for who they are. Some people just don't get it.

But aren't you being hard and narrow? Aren't saying, exclusively, without doubt, that your view is right? If you are not, then you are in essence not making a concise argument; not calling for anyone to do anything. If you are, then you too are being hard and narrow, and close-minded.

It's essentially fear of the unknown and and they are afraid of the differences of others. I'm an atheist, and I have developed my own spirtual beliefs. My sister believes in something different, and so does her husband. We have good friends who are Christians. While we ultimately believe that their beliefs are wrong, and they believe ours are wrong (which is the fundemental reason for having different beliefs) we don't say this to each other. We enjoy our friendship and we don't try to convince each other is wrong.
