Wow, good question.
I know that's not something that I would do but I can see why some people would choose to go that route.
Being sexually active brings on super major responsibilities and there may be some people that may not want to even go there.
Being sexually active brings on risks as well...(STD's and pregnancy). Some people may not want to deal with that stuff either.
Some people choose it as a way of "purifying themselves".
Some people after a spouse has passed become celibant because they want to honor the memory of their passed on spouse.
Some people do it because of religious reasons. For instance, some preists can't ever get married and nuns take a vow of celibacy because they feel they are married to god.
It's not a bad thing but it's also a choice one has to make for themselves. Hope this helps you some.

Celibacy saves a person from a host of problems like venereal diseases, loss of good reputation, fear of unwanted pregnancy. Some people practice for religious reasons (yes, there are a few out there that still believe sex out of marriage is wrong).

Because is could seriously halt the spread of STDs and other serious diseases. It also gives the body a chance to fight off any infectious diseases within the body.
And it also helps you to develope true love that won't be mixed up with sex so you will know what your heart really is telling you. No confusions.
Also, it will help the situation of unwanted babies, abortions and fatherless children.
And no one have to worry about their boyfriend or girlfriend sleeping with someone else.
There are other things.... but I don't want to write a book.

It eliminates ALL unnecessary drama. Not to mention that is Gods plan for us (until marriage).

If you are always thinking about sex , you dont have much energy for other things . if you are celibate , you dont have to waste much mind energy on sex
