Its unbeleivable you would even consider a Lawsuit towards your Boss. You knew once you started this kind of job what type of enviroment you would be expected to work in.But in the Future if you feel uncomfortable with your Boss saying stuff like that ,Tell Him.But Honestly I dont know any Lawyer that would touch your case,as you can quit this positen anytime .You are not being forced into working there. In my opinion You shouldnt be working there if your embarrassed by this..Maybe I jumped the Gun a bit on this,as you never yourself said anything about a Lawsuit. My answer only applies if you feel your being harrassed.

So...this is like a "Coyote Ugly" type bar?? Did you know you'd have to dance in front of people when you took the job? I don't know how to gauge his advice. I mean, what if he's just being honest? You know, using his experience to help you (and him) make more money. If this were a different enviroment, I'd say he was out of line. But, considering that he wasn't really commenting on your butt so much as your dancing...I can't really ridicule him. I'd say, if you like the job...take his advice. If not, quit. Hope that helps, Matt.

As long as it wasn't a strip bar, I do believe you have a case of sexual harrassment. Is he going to fire you for not shaking your butt? Don't comply, unless it makes your customers happier, and they leave bigger tips, and it doesn't hurt your feelings.
But I would really think about getting a job elsewhere. Who knows what your boss will do next, if you do as he says! I bet it will be to your liking even less.

Sounds like you are working at a place that makes more money based on attractive women showing it off. You have to either realize it is part of what is expected from you working there or you can try to avoid doing it or you can quit working there. I hope this shows you a real-life example of 'sex sells.' What matt says above is true.

well, FIRST OF ALL, This can be considered sexual harassment. secondly, if you feel uncomfortable you need to take responsiblity and approach your boss about what he said in a assertive way.
