Genius??? I don't know if I could say he was a genius, evil or otherwise, I have no accurate way to estimate his intelligence or his intellectual capabilities. I suppose you could say he did a good job of placing very intelligent people around him to accomplish his goals. The Generals and Military Commanders who orchestrated the Blitzkrieg, demonstrated their competence as warriors. (is this a reflection on Hitler) The Engineers in Germany that developed Jet propulsion, and V2 rockets demonstrated a lot of intelligence with their creations (is this a reflection on Hitler) To be able to organize one nation to systematical exterminate an entire Race of people had to take some level of intelligence (even though the task they were set on demonstrates a level of psychopathy that is difficult to imagine). Most credit him with being a very charismatic leader and a persuasive politician. But his psychopathic tendencies definitely masked his other mental attributes if he had many others.

I think he was able to take advantage of the social situation in Germany at the time more than anything. If you watch his speeches he really isn't all that great a public speaker. There were other people who could have risen to the top of the Nazi party if Hitler was not one the scene. The Allies eventually decided not to to try to assassinate him because he was his own worst enemy as a military strategist! If he was smart, he would have taken the deals offered to him by Chamberlain and Stalin.

Ok, I'll probaly be shot for saying this but yes. He used tactics that in a sense brainwashed an entire generation. Of course he was a mad genius. But remember, absolute power corrupts absolutly.

Anyone who thinks he was a great man is sick in the mind. Absolutely the trash and garbage of the human race. Politically and socially he was amazing. He spoke with much enthusiasm and charisma but he was insane.

I agree. He was an evil genius. To be able to control the minds of so many and do the things he did and make it look so right to some, he had to be. But it was so awful :(
