The name of your child is a very personal choice but I do kind of agree with your pastor. For instance I named my son David Isaiah b/c David was a strong man in the Bible and he loved God but made a lot of human mistakes at the same time. I find his writings to be extremely helpful. Isaiah is from Isaiah 44 that I read while i was pregnant and the Holy Spirit really came over me and I knew it was the Lord telling me that he was going to be there for me and help me take care of my baby since I had an idea that his dad was leaving. I knew then that if it was a boy Isaiah would be his first or middle name. So maybe you could make your decision based on someone in the Bible that truly inspires you and you can use that name.

I think "Truth" is a bit strong/weird. People will constantly be asking her if it's "Ruth."
Joy, Grace, Faith, Hope....those are very beautiful and Christian names as well....and a little more "mainstream." What about Angelina? I think it means little angel.
Also think about your last name!
I think Grace is a beautiful name, and every "Grace" I have known has been a wonderful person.
Hope this helps.

I like virtue names. The puritans used to use all sorts of virtues for names. Like Chastity, which is just embarrassing in this era. I would say a name like Chastity or Virginity would be something kids would make fun of, but I think Truth is great. It is unusual, but who cares. All kids get teased for something, and I think if you grow up with someone and you know their name before you fully understand words in general, then you associate their name, just as that, their name, and nothing else. Nothing weird about it.

She's your baby. I think that Truth is better than some other names I've seen and heard. I couldn't believe some of the names in the baby name book when my hubby and I were searching for a name!

Do be careful with your baby's names because they have a greater impact than you might imagine. Do you have to make your child a billboard for your ideals? Maybe you can find a name that means truth or whatever but actually sounds normal. I'm no expert at that though.

I like the name Truth. Or you could go with the word truth in another language or a synonym for truth. In Latin truth is Verna. A synonym for truth in English if Verity. Alissa is a name that means truth in Hebrew. Vera is a name that translates Truth in Latin and Faith in Slavic.

Actually, it sounds like a good name. I've heard worse names. And it's hard to come up with some way to poke fun at Truth. And, when she's older, she can never lie to you. I like it. It's better to give your baby a name that means something.
