I know that we're not supposed to skip meals, but I'm not hungary in the morning. My classes are 4 hrs. long and I'm usually at school for 4-8hrs., 5-6 days per week. I'm also very overweight and would like to establish a healthy diet and exersise regime.

Try not to eat late in the night. After 7:00 pm. This should help you to be hungry in the morning. I have had the same problem most of my life (I'm 38 now). If you don't feel hungry, don't force yourself to eat. That would not help in learning proper eating habits. You need to listen to your body, and then make good choices.
It is important to "fuel" up in the morning. If you are absolutely not hungry, take a good breakfast meal with you. Eat when you get hungry. Try to eat a number of small meals throughout the day.
You should also try to walk 3-4 times a week. Any kind of exercise will be good for you.

If you're not hungary, do you want to be britain?! Let's see, gazing at your question: it's "hungry" and "exercise"--that's really quite good for someone on this forum!

Seriously, changing your eating patterns, especially if you are overweight, is always difficult. It is a complete interruption of what your body is normally used to! But it's the change that matters, and once it becomes natural, anything ELSE will be the interruption. You will find in time that it is most healthy for you to start your day with a small meal at least, and then perhaps a more substantial meal at lunchtime. If you do just that, it forces your system to require less at dinnertime, which is when most people overeat. Follow the new pattern religiously, be uncomfortable at first, but your body will thank you later, and it's almost a guarantee that weight will be lost in the process! It couldn't hurt, right?? Give it a try!

Yes. You need to begin eating breakfast - Break Fast. I to hate eating in the morning.. Begin with maybe a slice of toast, with peanut butter, or some form of protein. A bit of protein at every meal actually.
Eat several small meals daily.. I have to have 3 meals, 2 to 3 snacks, as I've become diabetic.
You will also find that by eating your meals at a scheduled time, everyday, you'll begin to lose weight. Just make sure you balance them with the right proteins, carbs, etc. I'm still learning.

Don't force feed, just take something healthy with you to have mid morning. Silm fast is great for this. But skipping meals entirely can lead to an inflated sense of hunger later in the day, which can add to your weight problem. Pack your lunch, avoid the snack bar and cafeteria. I assume you are in college. You should have a health advisor at the school who you can consult for more help.

Well don't like try to force feed yourself a nine course breakfast.

Eat something like a granola bar, and drink some juice or something and that should get you in a good habit. Another good habit, just for loosing weight is to eat about six small meals during the day, rather then three large, as well as not eating after dark, it messes up your circadian rythyms, and then in the morning, you'll be hungry for breakfast! (Note: if your stomach's growling before you go to bed, eat a filling protein like peanut butter, just one sandwich or something and that should quiet it down.

Yes, you should have breakfast even if you aren't hungry.

I suggest you have a "small" breakfast of hot cereal (cooked on the stovetop, not microwave packages that have sugar in them and are overly refined). -- such as oatmeal or oat bran cooked on the stove and then eaten with some fruit (especially raisons) and some milk (especially skim milk).

It will expand in your stomach throughout the morning and keep you from getting hungry until lunch time.

Not only is hot cereal healthy and full of fiber, it will keep you feeling full and that will make it easy to resist snacks and junk food. When you want a snack, have some fresh fruit or cook some frozen vegetables for yourself.

With me I never eat breakfast except a cup of orange juice and maybe like an apple. so at lunch I totally fill up with everything I missed out on. Im really healthy and skinny. It seems to work for me. Look at other peoples answers an experiment. Maybe you'll find the right thing for you. && I've also realized force feeding isn't the greatest thing to do.

Oh, me, too. I'm never hungry until I've been up and active for three to four hours.

I wouldn't force-feed myself, if I were you; it will just make you feel stuffy and you'll be all cranky.

I *will* recommend what *I* used to do: carry a sandwich in your bag, and, when you have an opportunity later in the morning, even if you have to sneak into the bathroom to do it, have it when it's your natural time to eat.

I have actually done this many times!

I would say NO, don't eat if you are not hungry. Class doesn't require much energy so most of that food would be turned into fat deposits. If you plan on taking up running before class, look into healty cereals such a granola that give you a lot amounts of protein but low fats and processed sugars.
