And as far as the Revelation is concerned, if you try to interpret these things, how many of the things have happened? (For instance, can we say that the plague that is talked about is Bird Flu or something?)

First, the Bible warns against speculation because the Bible says it will come as a thief in the night, meaning no one will know when it is until it is suddenly here (1 Thessalonians 5:2). Here are some things that will happen before Armageddon:

Matthew 24:3-8 says we will have those that will mislead others (various false religions, obvious or not); the accessibilty to know of wars that are not even in our area would exist (news and t.v.); nations and kingdoms and groups of people would dominate each other (all the warring factions and terrorism); food shortages (on global scales); earthquakes (with high death tolls).

Then it talks of tribulation, or hard times, starting in verse 9. People would kill and hate those who worship God. There will be those who would at one time have associated, but now pull away and betray or give up those who used to be their fellows. Increasing lawlessness will cause love to cool off within the general public. Good news will be preached to all the Earth.

Then, the Bible talks of a Great Tribulation. Matthew 24:15 talks of a disgusting thing coming in and standing in a holy place. Christ's followers are told to flee the area when this happens. A sense of urgency would be in the air, and material things and worries will be of no importance.

This had minor fulfillment back in the Jews' day, before Jerusalem was detroyed, but still, Armageddon, the Great Day of the Almighty did not come.

At Armageddon, Revelation 16:15-21. The Bible talks of gathering at Harmageddon (in reality, this was a small area, where a true gathering of all the world's leaders would be impossible; yet another reason why it is symbolic). Then Babylon the Great (who symbolizes false religion, much like ancient Babylon was the representative and center of false religion in its time) will be destroyed. Mountains and islands are said to be fleeing (the Bible uses mountains and other areas of lands to also represent kingdoms (Daniel 2:44,45)).

Until those things happen, we are not in Armageddon, nor the Great Tribulation. Instead, we are in the times of the end. We have all the attributes of that time present, but we still have false religion with great power today, and freedom to worship in most of the world.

We are in Revelation times, Rev 3. The plagues that will happen to the wicked have not yet begone. We have to wait until there is a joining of American Protestantism and Catholicism. They will cause the Sunday Law to be passed and the USA will force the world to obey it. Then when the Sabbatairens(seventh day keepers) refuse to obey the Sunday law, there will be a death penalty attached to the law. When that attachments deadline has come then and only then will the plagues begin to fall. That is also the same time that Christ ceases His Heavenly Priest Hood and Salvation is at an end. At that time if you are not already one of the Saints, you never will be.

There is no way to know how close we are to Armageddon. We aren't supposed to be worried about that anyway. Jesus warned that the end will come like a thief in the night, when we least expect it.

The point, then, is to focus on what is your relationship with God at this moment. If Armageddon came tomorrow, would you be ready for it? We are to focus on the strenght of our faith. People try to short cut things all the time by trying to calculate when the End will come, but only God the Father knows that hour. We just need to worry about our job, which is making sure we are right with Christ. Then we'll be ready whenever the End DOES come.

God bless,

Danny

Happily, yes we are deep into the end times, but, Armageddon is not here yet, we do not know when this will happen, only God does, here though comes the question "What is meant by the "end of the world?" It is the wind - up of the system of things. At the bible book of Matthew 24:3 says, While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?" The Book of 2 Peter 3: 5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God, 6 and by those {means} the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men. 9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. The book of John 17:3 says, This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ.

I do not believe that Armageddon has happened yet, and I believe that we cannot know how close it is. Jesus said that the last days will come suddenly, like a thief in the night.

Mar 13:32 No one knows the day or the time. The angels in heaven don't know, and the Son himself doesn't know. Only the Father knows.

No we are not. We will never know. The Lord said that he will come like a thief in the night. It could be tomorrow or it could be 3000 years from now. You never know.
