All the other answers you received are way off base and indicate the lack of knowledge on their part. The fact is, the other night, when you were at my house (which is why you were inspired to ask this stupid question) and interrupted the service that was in progress... I knew you had noticed the different candles lit about the room. If you need to know, when I went to the local store to purchase the candles they happened to be out of the packs that offer all one color, So I got the "rainbow pack" which offers one candle of each color. If you have any other stupid questions don't bother these good people, just pick up the phone and call me or just come over and ask. See you soon!

Oh, for crying out loud! None of the candles stand for the devil, because the devil is a christian devise to frighten people out of their old beliefs. Wiccans don't even believe in it.
As a matter of fact, the black candle is used to dispell negativity and evil, white for purification and protection, pink for self love, purple for power, yellow for clairvoiance, green for money or healing, blue for healing, red for power, orange for success, dark green for the Goddess, red for the God and many others. Look up pagan colour correspondances and candles.
